  1. This has nothing to do with height over bore of the flip sights. He switched to troy sights because of where the position of the flip sight was positioned after he added the PWS extention. He mounted his DBAL on the PWS extention part which would get in the way of the original flip sight because it is taller than the rail, even when flipped down thus he had to remove the sight.
  2. OMG why do u guys get the VFC goodies before, even, us! Is it the AEG? REVIEW PLEASE!!!!
  3. I'm going to be a bit critical and say the finish doesnt look so good (scratched and I see a small dent). Also, I believe it is casted and then finished with some lathe/cnc work. I have an ACM Surefire FH556 which looks similar in quality. The only thing I noticed is that you could not put an extended inner barrel through it. Is this also the case for the MBK556?
  4. The SCAR sight over bore is higher than the AR.
  5. Nice Drake. I reckon a 1-4x shortdot type optic would look better on a build that length.
  6. The newer VFC ARs have the buffer tube screwing into the receiver as opposed to the spring guide of the gearbox. This enables you to remove the gearbox without removing the buffer tube (provided that you have detachable wiring). I believe the older VFC 416s did not have this feature (mine does not), but all my Avalon/VFC AR receivers have this.
  7. Er???? Is that an MP5 sight welded to the rear of the top cover?
  8. Then again, I'm going to say that in my experience, I've found that chrono-ing MP5Ks are relatively inaccurate as the barrel is too short. Max. velocity is not reached until the bb has left the barrel and thus chrono-ing at a distance even 0.5-1foot away from the barrel will yield different results.
  9. 416 Question: How do you guys feel about the raised height of the flat-top rail. With PEQs mounted, your optics have to go even higher to clear the PEQ height which adds way too much height for a proper cheek weld.
  10. Ok finally done. Sorta. Will get some trades soon and needs some accessories i guess. AAC 300BLK URX 3-8" Upper:
  11. Problem is..... can won't screw on if the flashider is recessed into the handguard. Argh....Ok I have something planned to fix this, lets hope it works
  12. Argh, aren't we all like that? Well I had some counter-intuitive progress on my URX3 8" buld... barrel was too short .. I'm so choked
  13. @ Zander Never owned a DTG (closest thing I've ever owned was the JAC gas riggers way back when) but your build looks great! Kudos!
  14. I'll add that the Crusader MBK556 is off spec (longer) than the Dytac which I believe is the correct length (2.49").
  15. Yes.. most of the time. I've had quite the run-around with VFC before. They tend to ignore most of my emails. Then, once they told me to ask my local distributor (WGC) who was absolutely unwilling to help me out. Well the guy at WGC said oh yeah my colleague will contact VFC. A month later, still no feedback, so I took that back to VFC and told them, "Look, your distributor isn't doing their job..." So finally, they finally let me purchase from them directly. So I've come to kind of know one of the sales people relatively well, and she is helpful from time to time. Thanks. I ca
  16. Good choice. The URX midlength in FDE. I don't think any retailer sells it standalone, so I'm asking my contact at VFC for you.
  17. That sir, is GOLD! On another note, some stuff in the works........AAC 300BLK upper....Just need my barrel assembly and I'm done
  18. WHAT?! Larue made FDE Rails? I think not!
  19. Agree. VLTOR EMOD with some sort of thingy attached on the bottom.
  20. Acetone should do the trick. I believe the can is anodized and not painted so acetone should not damage the original finish.
  21. Haha is this what you're looking for? VFC HK416 -RS HK416 LE Stock -RS EOTech 552 -RS HK VFG -PTS MIAD -PTS EMAG -PTS ASAP -Avalon Rotex III C
