wutang, that is a sweet looking gun, and a really impressive internals list. what kind of performance/range/accuracy do you get out of that thing? you obviously took no shortcuts when it comes to quality.
  2. hmm, thanks for the link, I may have to look into that.
  3. intresting, I gotta say it looks pretty sweet seeing a bunch of magpul dynamics style stuff in the military. I like it!
  4. that is really a sweet pic. I have never seen the magpul xtm rail panels, the aimpoint t1, the afg, or those mag pouches on any us soldier. do you guys suspect that they were individually purchased by the soldier? is so, I didn't know that they would be allowed to. I thought that they were mainly restricted to issued gear.
  5. thanks for the explanation uscmcorps.
  6. once again, thanks, what is the difference between NODs and NVGs?
  7. thanks pkekyo, eugene and Ezek, your answers were really helpful and interesting. as for the term NVDs I had never heard that term before, so thanks for filling me in, I guess ya learn something new every day.
  8. thanks for the quick answers pkekyo. 1. you mean nvgs right? thats what I thought, but I wasn't sure. the idea is that the hood ends of the cord attach to the monocoular, and is slipped through the goggle slings on the back to hold them in case the shroud or arm breaks. 2. thats what I suspected, but why not adhesive velcro? 3. why? 4. thanks.
  9. that is a sick helmet, I really love the colors and the beat up look. may I ask some questions though? 1. what is the bungee cord for? 2. what is the stuff that looks like it is oozing out from under the velcro and that callsign patch? 3. why is there tape on the back and what kind is it? 4. what is the cord thingy on the left side velcro? 5. is that the vel tye counterweight pouch?
  10. I think that loadout looks really good, here's the way I see it. It combines a realistic look (paca+rrv+1st line kit+mich200) much of which looks similar or identical to what US special forces wear. however, he has taken the liberty to add some other nice touches, such as the blue force gear speed reload pouches, which are definitely functional in fast paced airsoft firefights. however, I do agree on the fact that the go bag looks a little cumbersome, however, if it suits you well, then I would say to go with it. relating to the posts above, yeah, he could take off the helmet, the first l
  11. there is, but it seems to also be out of stock lots of places http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=30_37&products_id=6380 I think that madbull may be taking over production of the socom gear dd ris II series. reaper, that build sound awesome, I can't wait to see it.
  12. that sounds like quite a dilema, an rrv would definitel have more space, but you could consider running some on your belt.
  13. thanks for filling me in, it looks like a good setup. @gumball, even more mbss fun, I'm not sure if I've ever seen one for an AK setup, but yours is looking good.
  14. is that a safety retention lanyard that you are using as a sling? how does it work for you? nice setup though, I love the simplicity of the mbss.
  15. oh, thanks, that looks like a replica of either the saber I or II, but in a group shot, all of the sabers look to be pretty much the same size. how does it fit in that mbitr pouch that you have there? also, how did you make the antenna? one more thing, does anyone know if there is a way to get an mbitr style whip antenna and a sordin headset hooked up to a saber? I all honesty, I would love an mbitr replica, but seeing as none of the replicas out there have gotten very good reports, I am now looking for a similar sized alternative, and lets face it, its only the top that can be seen poking out
  16. thanks for filling me in guys, I'll definitely consider the sabers and the RAID bdus.
  17. okay, so if I were to get a set of woodland bdu's that were acu cut, they would pretty much be "RAID" bdu's? also, @marcino thanks for the info, it looks like that saber fits perfectly inside the mbitr pouch, which model of the motorola saber is it designed to replicate? I hope to do something similar with a real saber (non replica), as there are no mbitr replicas that are worth purchasing.
  18. Marcino, you mentioned "saber" as part of your loadout, Do you mean a motorola saber radio? if so, which one? is that what you have in the mbitr pouch? also, if it is, what kind of antenna is that? please give more detail. thanks, and awesome loadout, reminds me of Rob's loadout from the national geographic documentary "inside the green berets" only in a more woodland color scheme with the ranger green and woodland bdu's. also for anyone out there, what are RAID bdu? I keep seeing it mentioned, but I never knew what the difference between raid and normal bdu's was.
  19. @hwagan: I think what you need is a rethreading tool. uscmcorps mentioned it waaaay back in the magpul thread. he used it to thread rs spec rails to G&P recievers. most likely your rail is rs spec, and you need a tap and die set to make it fit perfectly with the G&P upper.
  20. okay, thanks for the help, I'll see how much $$$ I have, and then decide on which goggle to get. I am thinking that the normal nvg with thermal lenses would work perfect for me. thanks again, and great review.
  21. the "defender" fron set is actually slightly different than the 9.0 lite rail, the defender set is a replica of the daniel defense 9.5 inch mk18 ris II, which is in use by the us navy seals. (that is why the G&P defender m4 has the navy seal trades, which ironically happen to be fake) you can check out the difference between the two rails right here. http://www.danieldefense.com/?page=shop/browse&category=railsystems other airsoft brands also make replicas of the daniel defense rails as well. 7 inch lite http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=30_37&products_id=4746
  22. nice review, sounds like the real deal turbofans or nvg's are the way to go. however, I have a couple questions. how does the performance, of the real ess turbofan compare to the clone one, I have heard that the ess turbofans are virtually fog proof under almost all conditions. Is it true? also, how do the real turbofans compare to the real nvg. (non turbofan) finally, could you get a group shot/comparison picture of the three goggles please? once again, great review, it looks as if the real goggles also have much better build quality and quality control. hope you can help me out a little bit
  23. wow, lots of mk18 ris II rails there. I'm liking it, really sweet guns guys. i can only wish for now.
  24. I have a few questions involving peq 15 laser/ light combos. first one is for racing maniac. that is the larue lt606 mount on your rifle right? is the peq 15 able to sit on top of the rail without either the flashlight or the peq getting in the way of each other? next, I am looking for some sort of peq 15 that is realistic, durable, and provides a usable laser, flashlight, and laser. kind of like this. but, my problem is this. I want a laser like the one in the video, one that creates a constant beam. anyone know where I can get one? also, I want a working light, and the option
  25. @Pkekyo-Nor thanks for filling me in. I probably won't be getting one of those.
