  1. I feel embarrased asking this because I live in the USA, but do any of you folks know where I could find wooden foregrips for a VFC AKS74UN? I want to get one but I'd rather get the standard version if I can source these.
  2. The V1 early model has a dark grey finish while all of the late models have black finishes. There are some subtle differences in the custom parts used to make each version but they are all cosmetic.
  3. I got this Marathon Navigator from my family for going down south for 2 weeks and participating in Katrina relief. They were the most productive 2 weeks of my life and I would recommend that any of you try to get involved because most of the affected areas look like the hurricane hit a week ago and there's a lot of *beep* to be done.
  4. I understand that clearly, but a path in photoshop is the same, you can make it as big as you want without it loosing quality. It's only once you stroke/fill/select/do whatever to it that it can loose quality. BUT I get your point now, it does make it easier when you can fill or stroke your paths without worrying about losing quality. If I had a computer that didnt crash every time I switched from PS to Illustrator I might actually consider using it now I will say that the only important thing is what you end up with, not what program or whatever you used to make it.
  5. Again though that doesn't seem like anything you couldn't do in PS using the pen tool, tracing over a scanned sketch or reference images off the web. For the sake of argument, it took me longer to write this post than it did to trace part of your graphic in photoshop using the pen tool: Really though, I want to know what specifically makes illustrator better?
  6. Actually I use it for everything, from selecting to vector drawings. Maybe it's because I'm a left handed artist using a right-handed mouse that I do better with the pen in photoshop. I gotta say though, working with paths in photoshop is just as easy when you get used to it, regardless. Once you know the keyboard short cuts it goes quickly. Illistrator has always seemed kinda pointless to me ever since I learned how to use vectors in PS. What is your take on why one is better than the other when it comes to vectors?
  7. Could be CS2 with the pen tool! elchinator, your pictures look great, nothing like an SAA right? They photograph really well. Although the nickel ones can be difficult to work with because of how reflective they are, so my hat's off to you.
  8. With such a nice gun and such a nice camera there wasn't much work left for me to do.
  9. Wow that looks great. It's nice to see someone who has such attention to detail.
  10. Dude go in to photoshop and add +50 contrast to it. It always helps to add some contrast when you use lighting effects. I think its a well done picture.
  11. I decided to run my 20D through its paces this morning. I still need to desert Bowflage my 6004 holster so it will show up better in the darker-type pictures I take. My brother has my A2 Surefire too, so that's more eye candy that's missing in these two pictures, but enough with the excuses:
  12. I'm not trying to ruin a good thing Do they look like they are molded into the slide? Does the manual show the slide and the sights as one part? Thanks for your help.
  13. Are the sights removable? I'm guessing no, but figured I might as well ask.
  14. If you want me to do it again in high-res it's no problem.
  15. No I realize there has to be some resistance but this one is pretty tight. Again it wouldnt be a problem if I was using a real handgun or a junker replica 1911. I just get queasy when I shove a limited edition WA pistol in the thing, ya know? (good reason to get the Marui 1911) It's not like its the holster's fault.
  16. Umm I cant find it. This is what the back of my holster looks like after its disconnected from the leg shroud: I tried loosening this as far as it will go but it wont change much: I think what I should do is just break it in with a real 1911
  17. Now I'm out of the boat! Its a sweet holster, I'm glad I made the switch from nylon. I will definitely Bowflage it soon. Titleist or anyone, can I loosen the retention on this holster at all? I mean tight is great for real sidearms, but the finish on my MEU wont last long the way it is now.
  18. The spread at that range would be more than you think. It doesn't mention what type of buck either. You could survive and if you're wearing ESS goggles you'd have your eyesight. Just ask D I C K (thank you autocensor) Chaney. (Not that the guy he shot was wearing ESS's, just he survived being shot in the face from about that range.) Protection from small shrapnel is the selling point of ESS goggles as well as all high-end eye protection. If you get peppered in the face with that stuff it will heal but your eyes are a different story. It's similar to being peppered by buckshot which is wh
  19. Donnie that gun needs a beta c-mag! I'm in the same boat right now
  20. I remember hearing that GG&G AZ made them for P226s and 1911s but it's likely that they were discontinued for all the reasons mentioned. It could have been a myth too cause I've never seen one personally. I know GG&G makes them for shotgun barrels, but they serve a different purpose in that case.
  21. This was a couple years ago so it could be because it was an older model. I don't know. It was during early spring I think so the cold could have been a factor as well. It doesn't matter much in the real world though, if your HUD gets shot out with a real bullet you have some other more pressing issues to deal with!
  22. I disagree with the PMC types most of the time but that's for another thread, another forum
  23. Actually I've seen an EOTech get shot out in airsoft. I think its like a $100 from EOTech which isnt the end of the world.
  24. Well they probably don't have access to the real firearm so I doubt they have anyway of knowing for sure. It's likely that they just went with what looks good. The finish is similar to their other slides so I bet they were looking to cut production costs as well. Don't expect the color to match your frame, but they definitely go together well.
