Basho
Finally, after much play, I have finished my Classic Army SCAR review. Many pictures and a full pro's and con's list: http://www.outsidecontext.com/2007/06/07/scar-review/ Plus a bonus movie of the gun in action at Longmoor FIBUA camp. All comments welcome, Basho

Skorn
It isn't really as long as you make it seem. With the stock fully retracted it is around the same length as an M4.
Jagdraben
As an M4 with stock extended or retracted?
mrblah
The scar is pretty much identical in length with the m4. When the scar's stock is retracted all the way to the receiver, its the same size as the m4 with its stock retracted. The cqc scar is the size of a m4 cqbr Edited June 12, 2007 by mrblah
Basho
It is longer than you think, when you are used to short CQB guns. For me a 'long gun' is one that has issues when moving in CQB. It could be the over all length, or just the length of the barrel compared with the total length. I guess that is a specific personal thing.
mrblah
I converted it to a shorty barrel, and don't plan on going back to the regular length barrel. As for me, i'm use to longer aeg's, so the scar cqc is a welcome relief. It probably feels longer because the upper receiver is pretty bulky when compared to mp5's and shorty m4's. Ace of Spades
Ok sorry for the slight thread jack, I was wondering, do most AR grips fit the SCAR? I really find the current one a bit uncomfortable and would like to change it.
mrblah
no they wont fit without modifications
Jagdraben
How radical of a modification are we talking about, here?
