Corkie121
Hey, I'm looking to get my UKARA licence by Jan/Feb 2010 and plan to get myself a good gun for primary. The Escort weapons caught my eye, particularly the MP5. I've tried to search but found nothing, so does anyone know who could machine one of these mechboxes to fit something like an ICS MP5? Cheers for any help, Corkie

Corkie121
Daytonagun Forgot to say I checked Daytonagun, so long as that's Justin that I'm thinking of, and apparently they don't do MP5s at the moment sadly. Thanks for the reply though. Cheers

Korppi
The only "escort based mechbox" available now is the one for M249. To get yourself an gbb MP5 you need to buy yourself a used YE MP5 converted to AEG magazines aka Escort MP5. Register to classicairsoft.org to find one.

I am on Classicairsoft, but ideally I need to just buy the mechbox or parts for now in order to fit myself as I cannot legally own the RIF at the moment. Cheers

Silent_Assassin
Hey, I'm looking to get my UKARA licence membership that is no way shape or form a licence as it's not enforced by any Home Office branch due to it being a self regulatory independent data base by Jan/Feb 2010 and plan to get myself a good gun for primary. The Escort weapons caught my eye, particularly the MP5. I've tried to search but found nothing, so does anyone know who could machine one of these mechboxes to fit something like an ICS MP5? Cheers for any help, Corkie Fixed Good luck with the project. Josh
Corkie121
Fixed Good luck with the project. Josh As it is designed to give me licence to own an RIF, I'm gonna stick with licence ;p And to Korppi, touche. Looks like I'm going to be waiting until I can get a full gun. Cheers again
sadigh
UKARA membership is not a license to own. Anyone over 18 can own. Its entitlement to buy, providing your over 18. A while back, madbull released a co2 powered gearbox which was a drop in replacement for m4/m16/mp5 series (or anything else with a v.2 aeg gearbox) but AFAIK it was a limited run, and it had mixed reviews - some liked it, others said it was tosh. I think it was abandoned b madbull, but may be worth huntng one down for your project. otherwise, you could always try shoe-horning another system inside, or wait a while to see if WE or another manufacturer may release one? Stealthbomber
FWIW, the Madbull 470 was semi-only and it was also designed primarily for the M16. The "motor cage" that holds the CO2 capsules is designed to fit an M16 grip and it has a cocking stub on the top designed to work with an m16 cocking handle. These things can be worked around so the MP5 cocking tube cocks the gun and if you were running the gun on HPA you could bin the "motor cage" entirely. Still only ever gonna be semi though. frogfish
I'd just post up that you want an Escort Mp5 on CA.net, probably the best route.
GaMeFrEAK1018
As an owner of one, I'd recommend not even bothering to look up the Madbull 470 co2 gearbox. Way too many problems for what it's worth. While it's semi-auto by default, it has engaged in full-auto, randomly, from time to time. This thing just doesn't work correctly, at all. Also, yes, Madbull did abandon it a very long time ago. Go for an Escort MP5 or wait for the WE MP5 which they've confirmed making, along with 5 other weapon systems. MagnumBB
1. Log into CA.Org 2. Post that you want an escort Mp5 (protip, high rate springs blow, cause other parts of the system to fail prematurely unless you have steel parts) 3.??? 4. You have your MP5. The bodies of the Escort are completely different from the ICS/TM/JG/CYma bodies. 1 Peice stamped bodies closer to RS spec than AS spec. As for machining, You've knocked off all the public producers who make Escort-based engines. Even if you take a spec sheet or a physical engine to a local machinist to copy, there are loads of design tweaks and information the builders know to tune an escort o function. Besides the M249 Escort mechbox, There are no other "mech boxes" to machine down considering it is a whole gun system.

Cheers for that, however, due to the design of a rifle such as the AK74, would it be possible to machine a full system in just the reciever and then add other parts after I had a licence/membership? MagnumBB
Nope, for the most part, The engines are gun specific. If you are looking into getting an escort based AK though, Contact Justin when you are ready and he makes some pretty good machines. there are some examples of mp5 engines into other guns, Airsoft NY's RPD, modifications like that need many man hours and end up costs much more than just say... buying a complete mp or ak
