The HK 416 GBBR by VFC

Recommended Posts

yeah same, I'll keep an eye out in case I see it again.

in terms of internals, just flick through the pages here, I'm planning on doing the VSR mod on mine, I've also replaced some parts (such as the bolt release, the trigger and the disconnector, and the firing pin assembly with steel replacements), I'm not sure if they're steel from stock , but they were provided by the chap I bought mine from so I figured I'd install em. I haven't changed anything else, not sure if I will yet, but then each to their own :)

received it today.   First things first:   Bolt carrier did need modification, luckily i used to be a fabricator and had my grinder and fabricating tools handy.   When i had measured the RA-TECH

RA-TECH bolt will be here sometime tomorrow after the £48 customs and parcelforce charge!   will let you guys know how it goes.

I've owned the HK416A5 for a couple months now, so here are some thoughts if anyone actually reads this thread: The good: -External quality is great -Ambidextrous features are great- th

umm, i prefer single side switch anyway. im sure is saw them on WGC like a week ago :(

gona take this mag to my mates tomorrow n see if hes got any suggestions for it. as for the internals what would you guys say is a must to replace if any at all?

Get the latest V3 nozzle if your unit dont have it yet.

In stock form, here are the steel parts: Firing pin retainer, firing pin, firing pin locker, bolt catch, fire selector sear.

Others are made of zinc-alloy. Rule of Tumb: Dont fix 'em if it ain't broken yet. It wont break on you the soonest.

As for the fire selector switch, at first I thought it was made of plastic, but when I disassembled it, it was made of zinc-alloy. For the clicking issue you got, you could get a steel fire selector switch to address your issue.

What do you mean the mag don't lock? Wont lock bolt on last BB or wont lock on the mag well?

First upgrade you should get are the latest V3 nozzle (if you dont have it yet), A+ hop rubber or do the VSR mod, Steel hammer. And that's it.

yeah, its the mag well that its not locking into, seems to go all the way in but no lock so it just pulls striaght out without hitting the mag release.

as for the seletor switch i may have resolved the main issue just by lubing it up, its not great but should do for now.

in terms of the V3 nozzle i see theres a little confusion of weather its V3 or v3.5...well my understanding it the lugs should be slightly shorter than the end of the thing that holds it and mine seems to be slightly shorter although i would say only slighty, maybe 2mm or so, dono if thats the new one or not..?

will research this VSR mod as i aint got a clue right now

ok, i had a proper play with the mag issue last night & it fits into the mag well (locks) when the gun it split i.e the back pins removed and the gun is folded so theres nothing above the mag when it goes in meaning something on the upper reciver area is stopping it locking in... as i said before the other mags bought seperatley all fit perfect.

silly question, but have you tightened the screws on top of the mag? ionno if it'll work but its worth a try :P

good question...short answer is no but i will tonight...they seem flush but they could have the slightest play i suppose.

was thinking about skimming the raised edges that run on the side/top bit but im reluctant to be doing things like that just yet. email red wolf airsoft & told them - they requested a video to show what the issue is so im doing that after wotk today.

on a different note - was test firing the other night out my pals window & adjusting hop etc...with the correct amount of hop the BBs were failing short ot where my other AEGs would reach which i was suprised about...would have thought this GBB would have out ranged my mp5

stock VFC hop rubber sucks in terms of range. Either you get the A+ rubber or do the VSR mod. I'll try the VSR mod when my retailer have the vfc hop unit available.

For the mag lock issue, I also experienced that. As ProfHappyCat said, try to tighten the mag screw or you could also try to tighten the mag catch itself. I just put my mag with a little bit of brute force and it works fine. :P

That's a good idea, it says 30% reduction, is it adjustable or not? I'm sorry to hear that dude, hopefully they'll sort it out :)

I installed that on my unit. It is very consistent. My unit shot around 550fps unrestricted but when installed the azimuth valve, it went down to 380-390 fps. It's not adjustable tough.

550fps WOW!! thats suprised me buddy, i was expecting around 360 - 400 mark :fear2:

part on standby.

It's because I live in Philippines, it's hot in here. Also, I installed an EdGI 6.00 inner diameter barrel which greatly increase the FPS. When using stock barrel, it shoots around 430 fps

That's a VSR hop rubber. Unless your hop unit has been converted to VSR type, you can use that :)

Here's another site for the A+ rubber: http://www.wgcshop.com/wgc2008/main/product_detail1.php?search_From=category&item=APLUS-DHP-VGBB&search=special&rs=Hop-Up%20Rubber%20and%20Chamber%20Packing&catid=&cat=766&view_choice=c

hey ludey-dudey, if you dont have yet a bunch of magazine for your VFC 416, i'd recommend you to get the GHK G5 mag or the Gen2 GHK Stanag magazines and modify it. Much much better performance than the VFC mags, heavier though :P . 300gm vs 500gm.
