Since it has been posted on the news page I figured out it could have its thread as well. The project is old for a few months now and czech community is getting more and more nervous.

 

The AS version is designed and will be manufactured by czech company GURU ARMS

Is there any estimate for release date or prizing?

So this will be a conversion kit. I remember some RS conversions back in 2006 by some slovakian guys (?)...

I don't think it's going to be a conversion kit. It says on their website that using a V3 gearbox puts dimensions off so they went all the way and developed a new gearbox just for the VZ58, out of steel no less. I'm guessing this will come out even more expensive than an Asahi WA2000.

Trasher : those werent really coversion kits and they werent even sold, it was just one home made gun, if you mean this one

Mahonen, renegadecow : the price will be around 10 000 CZK which is somewhere around 500 USD i dont expect you get a WA2000 for that , just for example how the prices here in czech republic are like a VFC SCAR-L has a price 12 000 CZK in a local shop

Considered that the beginning of sales of the vz.58 assault rifle conversion set is coming, I’m going to write complete list of included parts, included materials, which parts are made of.

 

Body – steel ingot shaped by CNC cutter. Basic surface finish is chemical blacking. Tarnishing is available on request.

 

Grip – made of high quality ABS plastic available in couple of different color variations (many colors as black, brown, white, green or sand will be available on demand with no extra payment) + Motor cover, which is held inside the grip by four screws screwed into brass cores, not straight into plastic as known from cheap guns

 

Bolt carrier – steel block shaped by CNC cutter with basic surface finish – chemical blacking. Tarnishing of cuttings or whole surface is available on demand.

 

Returning mechanism – steel piece with original realsteeel receiver cover. This part also holds gearbox in its place inside the body. Spring which holds receiver in its initial position is also included.

 

Trigger guard – original realsteel part

 

Stock – original realsteel chipboard fixed stock or steel folding stock

 

Selector switch – modified original realsteel part

 

Gearbox – Two massive steel ignots with five years long guarantee. Shaped by CNC cutter. Thanks to well-engineered construction and used materials we can afford to offer guarantee as long, even if the parts in the gearbox were instaled by someone else, which practically means that you will never hear that defect of the gearbox is your fault, as is common in case of other marketers. Gearbox can be welded together and its surface can be tarnished to improve endurance. Atypical parts will be included: alluminium nozle with o-ring, polyamid tappet plate, steel trigger, switch assembly (polyamid with goldened contacts), sliding bushings made of tarnished steel, brass cylinder head, steel selector switch and all needed screws and springs.

 

Hopup chamber – steel CNC cutter shaped chamber, including all parts like regulation wheel, ball, spring, barrel lock and screws for attaching chamber to body

 

Precision barrel – Set will also include precise, chemically nickel-plated, 430mm long barrel with 6,03mm diameter, made by Guru Upgrade.

 

Sights – original realsteel part + steel spring

 

Outer barrel – steel barrel with pre-attached front sight carrier and gas tube, ended with standard M14 screw to attach standard accesories like flashhiders (license-made Kinggun flashhider is planned). Barrel is attached to the body the same way as on realsteel gun (by steel pin), but we’ve added two additional screws, so we can guarantee that the barrel will not move at all.

 

Forend – original realsteel chipboard forend. Can be changed to any forend that fits realsteel gun.

 

Magazine – casing is of course original realsteel, no copies or magazines used from other guns. Inner part is alluminium made and can be easily switched between wind-up and spring funcion. Inner mechanism is steel made, so there is practically no risk of defects like in cheap plastic magazines.

 

So, this is complete list of main parts. Of course, all needed and non-mentioned parts (like screws, springs, cables, connectors etc.) will be included. Package will include instructions for completion of the gun.

 

Set may be ordered diassembled or we can assembly an complete gun for you (out of some old weapon etc.) The set can also be totally altered on demand of the customer. But this will be explained in another article.

 

And now, we get to the most important thing, which is the price. Of course, we can’t tell you the exact price now, but we already know that it wont be neither over or close to 392EUR. We’ll let the price be a great surprise.

$500?!? Either they're planning to make them by the thousands, or they don't care much about turning a profit. Just the gearbox alone is an innovation by itself.
