famidesu
There we go. The gun I wanted to be open will just be a standard class Limcat + some bits and bobs. I'm going to wait and snipe until I see the open kit I really want and get it...muaha. Next month, controls I guess.
famidesu
There we are! Sadly, the Limcat two tone hammer was out of stock, so that's why I had to wait a bit extra. UAC Sculptor grip in grey is coming in as well as recoil springs and maybe something else, I forgot. The grip is only about 20$, that's half of the A-Airsoft grip or more, I think they're 45? Gotten great reviews, it looks awesome with the modified trigger guard and will fit this build. Enjoy pics.
famidesu
UAC Sculptor Grip reaction: My first reaction was that it didn't smell anything out of the box. 10 / 10 already. Everything fit like a glove. Grip looks amazing and feels amazing to handle. Griptape is always hard to get right. Only downside, which is only a personal / cosmetic issue and won't be affecting the score. Still 10/10. The fact that it costs 20$ less than the Masterpiece grip is unbelieveable and puts any other plastic grips to shame, except the stock one.
famidesu
Hey guys. Been a while! I'm back at it again, but before that I have an important matter to discuss and I would be very grateful if I could get some assistance! I didn't have much time to test fire or use my build, but when I did, I noticed that when I used my extended magazine, the hammer would not drop at all. It got stuck mid way or a bit closer at times. Then I tried a normal magazine...then the valve knocker would actually hit in some gas but it was very very...mmm sluggish and BB's would just fill up inside the slide and not get fired out. Does this mean I have a problem with the knocker being too long, or do I have some other type of problem? Thank you for your time.
famidesu
Does it even exist 4.3 slides from anyone except guarder? There is no point to buy an 'advance frame' if you can't put a slide of equal quality on top. All hope is lost.
famidesu
Here's some goodies. A tasty 6" Limcat: Wildcat conversion in the works. This stuff is coming up later:Grip Safety Thumb SafetyMag Release Catch (Limcat)Hammer Set (Limcat)CNC Grip

icolater
Hey guys. Been a while! Does this mean I have a problem with the knocker being too long, or do I have some other type of problem? Thank you for your time. Sounds like its light striking, need a stronger hammer spring, is it the stock one your using? I hope this is the problem because it's an easy fix.
icolater
If not start filing that valve knocker. I only had to do that once and it's the definition of trial and error.
famidesu
Im pretty sure that my hammer springs are at least 150%...can a too weak recoil spring also be a problem? I might have to start filing...both of them.
icolater
It's hard to make an assumption without using and even listening to the action of the gun but it shouldn't be anything to do with the recoil spring or guide rod. It's an issue with the hammer mech. Does the hammer function when there is no mag inserted? If so it's probably the valve knocker, is it stock or a steel 3rd party version ?
famidesu
That's about what I figured. They are both 3rd party versions(same manufacturer on both) and they both work properly without mags. sometimes when I insert a mag, the hammer is pushed back slightly, so that'd be a side effect from the knocker being too long? icolater
Throw in the stock knocker and see if it works.
famidesu
I did install the original without issues, and here's why I haven't replied since:Whenever I try to slide in a magazine...it quite doesn't 'click' if you know what I mean? Been trying to research, but I might be using the wrong terms.Disassembled the grip from the frame again and started inspecting. Magazine slides right in and locks with the grip uninstalled.Installed the grip again, only tightened one screw to see if problem still exists:(!) Magazine clicks into place. Tightened the second screw.(!) Magazine clicks into place.Happily installed the rest. Leaf spring, hammer housing and locked them into place.(x) Magazine does not click into place.Summary: The magazine doesn't go all the way up to get contact with the bbu and lock. Am I blind here or who is the culprit? The hammer spring?
famidesu
Update. I have now noticed that it's a valve-reset issue. I'm not sure how to fix it or what causes it, but the disconnector somehow isn't reset or IS reset while the hammer is in resting position. As soon as I rack the slide back and insert the magazine it works. Blasts away with minimal recoil, feels awesome. The UAC recoil-spring is great. Please be kind and correct me if I have used the wrong terms.
famidesu
Throw in the stock knocker and see if it works. It's weird how the stock knocker worked for a while - I kept using the WE Co2 mag for testing because I'm all out of gas and I'm not buying anymore of that since I'm working on getting that HPA working. Now it's 'knocking' in the valve again directly after inserting the mag. Very very annoying. Guess it's time to start shaving it down. By the way: I'm almost done with it now. All controls are Gunsmithbros & Nova. I also installed the RA-Tech hop rubber but have yet to test it. Also. Check out the extended mag release button you can get from PR0G4, I never saw any pictures of it mounted so if you haven't seen what it looks like - here you go! It sticks out quite a bit but the angle of the button makes it so that you can push on it by just extending your thumb without having to actually press it like you would have to normally. By that I mean, lifting up your thumb, find button then press. I also got the time to make my front cut look nicer by sanding and filing it even more on the Infinity slide. I wonder if it is possible to make slide cuts without milling tools and still make it looks awesome.

famidesu
Have you guys used the frame marked as sig sauer on the gunsmith bro's website? At least I haven't, but I'd love to get one at some point! Do you have any concerns?
paranoiddroid
I'm just not knowledgeable enough about the parts and companies who make them to know who to trust. If I did a build it would be a very slow process of gathering parts and building a racegun over time. My ideal end point is a sig sauer branded 2011 with the sig 1911 slide if I can find one. I understand more than enough. You are golden if the brands are following: Prog4, Airsoft Masterpiece and Gunsmithbros. They are the same with different branding. I'm 100% certain that you can get Captain KK at prog4 to engrave a 1911 slide for you too!
paranoiddroid
It's more the styling of the slide that's the issue, the sig 1911 has that iconic sig look to the slide and I'd want to replicate that. Find a plain back strap with textured sides grip frame and the sig slide and get it to look like a sig produced racegun.

There's this produced SIG kit. I really like that one, too.
