aznriptide859
This must be weird coming out of me, but I've never gotten a duster can + AI's duster adapter to work. I can fill a mag for 3-4 shots max for some reason. Do you guys just buy the HFC134a that auto stores sell for AC refills, then shove the adapter on? I want to shoot my KSC STI Edge more, but I don't want to use propane in case something blows T_T.
Horsem4n
last time i did it, i just bought a 4 pack from best buy and had to tear off the trigger mechanism. the nipple left on top was the right size for the adapter. wasn't any harder than using green gas or propane. hitmanNo2
You have to be careful as not all duster is the same. You need the tetrafluoroethane stuff. I'm told you can use air horn gas which I gather is cheap in the US but more expensive than using airsoft specific duster over here.
FireKnife
I know in the UK we have 144a now (as 134a was found to have CFCs or something stuff like that) and that is cheaper than 'duster' as it isn't really used in the UK. As for in the US I thought it was a rather common thing? 'FireKnife'
Stuey
134a is being phased out because while it's not an ozone-depleting CFC, it has significant global warming potential (GWP). Fun fact, 144a isn't a real chemical so I've no idea what they're putting in those bottles.
aznriptide859
Most of the dusters here now are all 1,1-difluoroethane, so it was hard enough finding a tiny bottle of 134a duster (until I found out about refridgerant at auto stores).
hitmanNo2
Someone in the TM 870 thread uses these I believe http://www.attwoodmarine.com/store/product/signal-horn-1-5-oz
aznriptide859
I found that at Walmart the other day, but there isn't a tip that allows the attachment of the AI duster adapter.
Rob15
I found that at Walmart the other day, but there isn't a tip that allows the attachment of the AI duster adapter. What does the tip of the can look like? If the AI adapter doesn't fit chances are you could have one machined that does.
