I hate to use such a cliche, but it actually kinda tasted like chicken. Had some raw, some cooked. The raw ones where a bit wierd, but enjoyable none the less.

Varying grubs, spiders, insects etc, um, scorpion, snake, crocodile, kangaroo, some wierd raw beef while I was in Africa, the list goes on Honeypot ants are damn nice btw, had some of those after the grubs. Bite the abdomen off while they're still alive

doc_newstead
That ant cracks me up; it must wake up in the morning full of despair. Imagine if there was an animal shaped exactly like a bottle of beer, or a kebab - it wouldn't last 5 minutes round me.
CountDoom
Ha, poor little sod. I have never really been grossed out by maggots and the like... but this: Well, that's just not nice.
rizzo
All spiders deserve to perish. Perish hard.
dannyboy
Deep fried and eat them. Only way you can be sure you've got the *fruitcage*ers, and they're crispy
rizzo
As long as their legs aren't there... I reckon i could eat a spider. I had whole octopus a few weeks ago with spaghetti. Usually when I order octopus I expect just the tentacles, y'know? This place served em whole. I managed one, then I just couldn't do another... Not with those heads looking at me
dannyboy
They tend to be fried whole, but it wouldn't take much to snap the legs off once they where cooked. And where the hell were you eating that they served whole octopi? "Yes, that will bring our customers back. Traumatise them with heads so they never forget what they were eating at the time. Mwahahaaaaa"
Pyromaster
haha lol. I don't think i have it in me to eat any of those things.....is that just me?
rizzo
And where the hell were you eating that they served whole octopi? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Some rustic restaurant in Malta. I'll be honest, they didn't taste too bad, the heads that is. The suckers were lovely as always. It's just the sight of them on the plate... not particularly appetising. dannyboy
I'd imagine about as appetising as having a fish eye staring at you while your eating it? In fact, probably more off putting than that.

Frangible
It's amazing what you'll eat if you're hungry... people who say they'd never eat x or y even if they were starving have obviously never starved for more than a couple of days!
