harborne blue
Govt has just confirmed that you will not have to pay tax on goods bought over the web from non-EU suppliers, providing the value is less than e150 (about £127). http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/7727717.stm Buying those clones and accessories just got a little cheaper
chris u'5
Yeah this was announced earlier in the year (possibly last year) Good news!
DarkLite
Yay! I'll still be asking things to be declared at a low value though, as it seems to stop ParcelFarce from stealing the ###### things.
Mike_West
Not fair. Similar regulation here allows only €60 ($80) worth of items .
counterassasin
I don't see what you're complaining about. Here in Commie-Norway, the regulation is 19£...
The General
Still have to pay VAT at 17.5% though...
BaggyPants
Still have to pay VAT at 17.5% though... And the £13 to Parcel Farce. The only saving you'll be making is the 3-4% import duty, which means you'll save £3-£4 on an item that costs £100 including postage. You'll still pay the other £30.50 in VAT and Pukal Force fees It's a joke
Hedganian
Every little helps, as Tesco like to tell us.
IBICO
I don't see what you're complaining about. Here in Commie-Norway, the regulation is 19£... When a private person send you a package marked "GIFT" the value is 97£ without shipping cost. From a company (Then gift is useless) the value is 19£ include the shipping cost. Over the stated value is taxed 25% of the complete value.
snowman
Yeah, it's not TAX you won't pay, but duty, which is a tiny percentage of the extra cost of importing... Means bugger all in reality. Cheers.
