The Reptile House
Ares is now doing the Tavor 'Standard Version' (TAR) in black and green: http://www.aresairsoft.com/tar21.html
NeoVeNoM
I wanted to pick up a tan this month, but looking at that green changed my mind.
Reppyboyo
Groovy, think the Tar looks better in Tan then the other colours.
aznriptide859
I'm guessing "Standard" is just the TAR w/o the craptacular MARS sight? This begs an Eotech
bankz5152
ooo the green looks nice, but looks a little light. If its the same colour as the L85 thats good, ive gone a bit OD mad recently.
weegee
I'm guessing "Standard" is just the TAR w/o the craptacular MARS sight? It actually refers to the length. The one with the MARS is a CTAR. (Compact/Carbine) I like the look of the OD one personally. Maybe with some dark brown stripes...
aznriptide859
Ohh...so, technically this one can accepting M203 mounting? Or does that need a special/custom handguard?
DrKalinka
That needs a custom handguard. Just as the RS one.
bluntshooter
Will be picking up a black one to add to my collection, and selling my ctar probably.
Shinden
I probably have to buy the standard in black, despite I own the CTAR. I'm assuming that the gearbox for the black TAR and OD TAR will be the same as the TAN TAR21 with the heat shrink wrap on the motor and no soldered motor wires.
SilentTank
my dreams have come true!! Well it could be better if it was CTAR standard but that green is to good to pass up!!
NeoVeNoM
is there any release date for the green one?
TheFull9
Awesome, hopefully they'll iron out a few of the minor niggles along with it, would definitely be after the OD version then.
The Reptile House
I wouldn't count on it . All they did between the CTAR and TAR was shrink wrap the motor (bizarrely) and change the motor connectors from soldered joints to spades. Given the lower cost of the TAR, I think you're right in calling the niggles minor. Having said that, my CTAR has been great so far.
mr.systema
Tavor 'Standard Version' look like Fantasy gun
NeoVeNoM
Tavor 'Standard Version' look like Fantasy gun maybe so, but it's best TAR derived from real steel you can get. Actually it's the only one worth getting.
