tgrillo
Which is better? The given is that I want to install a STRIKE chamber and a prometheus tightbore. Also, which bucking should I get for it? KM65 V Type Guarder 50% Systema Bucking Prometheus Bucking
Carbine
I suggest a Prometheus bucking for the Prome barrel, since the barrel is just a tad larger in outer diameter than your normal AEG barrels (8,5mm vs. Prome 8,55-8,6mm) so it stretches the bucking more and will cause double feeds unless the bucking has thick enough lips, like Prome or G&P do. tgrillo
Which unit should I use?
TriChrome
The systema unit fits the slightly larger Prometheus barrel and bucking perfectly. There's also another option; get the First Factory hop-up with strike chamber. It's made by the same company as your barrel/bucking so it should match up perfectly.
tgrillo
WGC no longer has the prometheus hopup in stock . Anyone else have one in stock? I'd rather get the systema now, and get the prometheus later when it comes back in stock. Trichrome, I assume both of us will be running the same hopup setup, right?

Correct?
GuzziHero
Ta-da! http://www.cobraairsoft.com/product_info.p...roducts_id=2453 Im probably getting this, with a Prome barrel. Didnt know I had to get bucking as well, so Im glad I read this thread. Cobra doesnt have a Prome bucking though...where could I get one? Is there anything else I need? I can nick parts from my CA hop as that will be defunct.
TriChrome
Trichrome, I assume both of us will be running the same hopup setup, right? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I will be using the FF Hop-up with strike chamber, Prometheus 480mm barrel, Prometheus Soft Bucking, and either a regular nub, or the Big-Out. Got my FF hop-up last night but haven't installed it yet. Fits very securely onto my gearbox though with that o-ring by the nozzle.
GuzziHero
Guys, I am SOOOOO sorry for all my inane and brainless questions and I praise you for your patience with me. But I have another stupid question. Cobra has the Prome barrel, Prome hop-up but only has the hard Prome bucking. I cant really afford another $25 postage just for a soft bucking! This is what buckings they have: G&P Durable (which i gues means hard) Guarder Improved Hop 50 (silica) Guarder Improved Hop 70 (rubber) Star Hopup Rubber Systema Hop Up Bucking Which would be the best? Im thinking the Guarder silica one, but will it be thick enough to do the job? Yet another +1 for everyone who helps...cos Im losing my mind
ronburgundy__
I was going crazy over shipping when I ordered, Why cant one place just have everything! I would go for either the guarder improved 50 or the systema.
tgrillo
Guzzi, go with the systema and the guarder 50%.
GuzziHero
Ah, Ive order the prome tightbore, prome hop with strike chamber (I really want that strike chamber!) and the systema bucking
ronburgundy__
Oh yeah that strike chamber is niiice, I put it in my old hopup. Its some good sh**
tgrillo
ron, hurricane, right?
ronburgundy__
Yup. As soon as I get a new hopup to canibalize screws and clips from, im using the laylax one. It has sweet seals. Once my prometheus bucking comes, ill do some tests.
tgrillo
I think I'm gonna go with the systema, cause a few people I know have them in their G&Ps and they fit nice.
ronburgundy__
A systema to use, or to take parts from?
tgrillo
To use, until I feel like ordering the prometheus unit. Ron, could you do a comparison between the hurricane with strike chamber and prometheus unit?
ronburgundy__
I will, but I cant really use the prom unit because i dont have a way of securing the big knob to the unit, so it kind of wiggles around. But I would have to say its better, it has these seals so theoretically, you would get better airseal. And Im not really in a position to test, I have *suitcasey* bb's and a *suitcasey* bucking at the moment, but once i get good bb's, good bucking, and make my prom unit work, ill throw up some tests. kryptik
I too suggest a systema chamber with a promethius bucking (and if you have the cash, a promethius strike chamber). That is in my opinion the best hopup combination.

That is in my opinion the best hopup combination. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Why? Prometheus makes a hopup chamber, why not have a prometheus hopup, prometheus bucking, prometheus strike chamber, and a prometheus barrel? Surely it would be better, all being made by the same company and tested together?
tgrillo
ron, keep in mind that kryptik owns a G&P M4, so he is probably happy with the way his systema unit fits in his gun. G&P guns have different dimensions , some for the better, some for worse.
ronburgundy__
heh, thats kinda silly, different dimensions for the same gun. But I guess it makes sense, use what works.
tgrillo
Well, its pretty close to marui dimensions, but not completely exact. Lets take for example, STAR magazines in a classic army m15a4 magwell
kryptik
I wanted to use the systema hopup chamber with my systema nozzle, to have perfect tolerances there. Plus, the systema is tried and true, the promthius is fairly new. I wanted to be safe than sorry, and it paid off, I have an amazing hopup now.
