jonarthur
i hav been working on a new project after i fell in love with the anime series hellsing, and i set to work on my colt 1911 to convert it into alucards gun 'joshua' its rather basic and unfinished but it is working http://www.flickr.com/photos/87786606@N00/310575023/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/87786606@N00/310575026/ and i'm very much aware of the dents and general scratches so please don't mention them

El_Hombre
I rather like it. Did the speed of the blowback suffer because of the added weight?
c_a_r_t_e_r_3_5
Struggle finding a holster for that?!
Mike_West
How much does the tin slide overlay weigh?
Angelfire5x
its a WE 1911 its a cheap one that i got on a bargain deal from airsoft scotland. i also gonna be making a holster specificaly for this will be a shoulder holster. and about the added weight, its bassicaly nothing, i made it from quite thin aluminium so theres not much extra weight and it doesn't affect the blowback at all, also i'll say because the metal is folded from a flat sheet, its got enough strength in it to avoid denting easily, the huge dent in it was an accident when i was glueing it on before you use that agaisnt me lol only other thing i can think of to say is that the power of this standard 1911 has been generaly incresed because of the increase in barrel length. i'll update with some more pictures when i'v cleaned the gun up and marked it
dragonfly5z
damn damn damn, i'v done it again, i posted using my brothers account instead of my own, i really gotta check before i post, anyway this is just so you know
jonarthur
haha just about to say .. cant you stay on your own acount i think its sweet ! and when you pick it up it feels so balanced theres not much wight in the front . i think the blowback didnt suffer it just looks like its going slower as it has a longer slide .. i just need to get my custom finished and ill post pics of mine ( btw this has turned into a ' who can make the best custom ' thing )
kerberos_
...and I thought my auto-9 was mass-eev!
Donut
Nice, I have thought about making Alucard's guns before. Any plans to make the Jackal? I can't figure out what base gun to use. Which design are you going off of? the manga or the anime? they are slightly different.
dragonfly5z
well i'm going from the OVA series i havn't stayed entirely true to the gun tho, i have made a, if you will, negative version of the joshua, i'v sprayed it black and done white markings heres some pics, its virtualy finished now http://www.flickr.com/photos/87786606@N00/312486656/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/87786606@N00/312486660/ i know its not the right colour but it looks the part and its much better in black then i would have ever been able to make it look in silver i hope hellsing fans still like it if nothing else its unbelievably fun to play with i have yet to get that dent out lol, i'm lazy but i will do it eventualy
Donut
The markings look very nice. How did you do it? I might get around to doing one too. So how do you think of the OVA? have you seen the TV series?
my_plague_666
im not a fan of anime or the rediculously exagerated guns featured, so sorry but i would be lying if i said i thought that looked good. no offence, its just not my thing.
jonarthur
and the point of that post was ? if youve got nothing nice to say ... dont say it .. i think it looks bad *albatross* !
Mike_West
...those look like painted with a bloody TANK BRUSH. Or a correction fluid pen. Doc-ugly!
newbkiller
suggestion: re-make the frame extension and the trades, they both are the only flaws I see. nice gun.
my_plague_666
and the point of that post was ? if youve got nothing nice to say ... dont say it .. i think it looks bad *albatross* ! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> the point was to give feedback, which is what these threads are usually made for. and yes, i would imagine if it was pointed at me i WOULD be scared
jonarthur
sorry if i got the wrong end of the stick ... but how is saying you dont like something feedback ?? or atleast helpfull feedback .. anyway as i said to you .. and most other people are saying .. sand the slide back down .. get some 2 part car body filler and make it all nice and smooth so the conversion flows into the 1911 .. its such a cool idea and good to see someone try it would be a shame to rush it and stop it looking at its full potential ... and to all the people that slag it off ... aleast he made one ... peace
dragonfly5z
i pretty sure the point of these topics are to get useful feedback from people, not people telling me they don't like anime guns in general or just to slag of my paint job, as jon said man if you havn't anything nice to say, don't say it, it's not useful, it's not clever and it's not a great way to get people likeing you. but hey if you want to be the forum areshole go right ahead i'm not saying like it, i'm just saying if you don't, get lost only messin, i'd rather just have helpful feedback take it easy
dragonfly5z
aaand this reply is just for donut, i did the markings with a detail brush and white acrylic paint, its totaly freehand which is why some of it wobbles slightly, but it does the job i think. took me about 2 hours to do, long but i enjoy a bit of painting so i don't mind, you may have a better way of doing it if you have a go at making one and about making one, you should definatly have a go at making one of alucards guns, a vital asset to the armoury in my opinion. i think hellsing ova is probably one of the best anime's i ever seen, truly a masterpiece. Plymouth Roadrunner
I must say nice work... Even though i deteste changing the beauty of a standard 1911 to something like this, I must give him alot of credit for actually making it, and making it function. Good Work! Donut
I'm going to do it eventually, though I might get another gun to do it as I'd like to keep a M1911. For the "trades" I'm probably going to try and get a sceen cap or a hi res manga scan, and make a stencil out of it.
The Saint
Kudos for effort. If I were to do it and had the money, I think I would've used an Automag or something similarly beefy as the base. Or any GBB that can take CO2, so I wouldn't have to worry about weight. Back the metal with a thin layer of wood to prevent dents. Nekomimi Maid FTW The horrifying truth that powers the universe.
