  1. Surely its dependant on personal taste?
  2. I know what you mean. I do like the tactical aspect EBR, but I don't really like the idea of the weight. This seems like a good compromise between the two. Maybe if someone were to explain the potential market to JAE then they would produce and airsoft version of their own. Or maybe that is just wishful thinking!
  3. Balls. I was wondering about that. Ah well, sooner or later the chinese will copy it.
  4. Very nice! What is it and how much are they? Edit: Answered my own question - its a JAE-100 Precision Rifle Stock http://www.jae100.com/html/jae_home.html They're up for sale at $699 here Considering the price of an EBR I reckon I'll be having one of these instead!
  5. I only ever use my scopes for spotting. Since I don't wear my glasses to play (only need them for driving etc), I find them invaluable for checking out suspicious bushes and the like. I never use them for aiming tho.
  6. Is that the Proud CASV mate, or the King Arms?
  7. That's nearly identical to the gun I'm planning on building in the next few weeks! Its nice to see what it'll look like Just a quick question regarding the sopmod stock. Has your body got a long or short buffer tube on it? I'm planning on getting a Noveske G&P and they're available with both long and short tubes on them and I'm not sure which would best suit the sopmod.

You can use the original stock screw, I used it on mine, but it was a pain to screw in and I won't ever be undoing it.

Its a G&P short 203 for Marui mate, along with a G&P quick release front clip. http://www.gp-web.com/en/productspop.php?pid=432

Its a G&P Canadian style midcap mate. I reckon they look better than normal ones, but I've only got a couple.

Its a King Arms G27. I had a few problems. I had to shave the grip down a bit to get it to fit against the receiver. I also had to enlarge the hole the pinion gear fits through. It needed a new motor plate too as the ICS one doesn't fit 3rd party grips. Basically it was a pain in the *albartroth* and not helped by the fact that the ###### ICS screws securing the grip decided to shear and needed drilling out. I've not noticed any difference with the operation of the gear box since fitting it tho, it seems to run just fine.

  15. I had my MkII outside for the first time yesterday playing with some friends in a bit of wood at a mates farm. I was laid down by a tree with the bipod out when I took a lot of incoming fire. This apparently managed to take out the blade inside the front sight, as its now missing. Obviously this is a freak happening but you all may want to keep it in mind.
  16. Well I've just got my hands on my MkII at long last. Ordered it from Z1 on Sunday night and spent all week waiting for it. First impressions are that is very solid, no creaks or movement in it. Its lighter than I expected (hoped?) but considering the kind of use its going to get I'm sure that it'll be an advantage. The overall finish is good and not shiny at all. Except for the weight its everything I expected it to be from closely following this thread. Now all i've got to do is wait until the battery is charged before I can hose down the box it came in!
  17. I've got one of these http://www.toratoratora.co.uk/kukri/details.asp?id=2
  18. Some people just can't grasp the fact that technology is moving forwards all the time. I mean what reason could Star possibly have for putting a weak gearbox into one of their guns? I think we have to credit them with some intelligence (even tho their pricing of the L85 definitely detracts from that!). I'm more than convinced anyway and I'll be ordering my para in January.
  19. I think I'm going to get a Para instead of an L85, it just seems better value for money. Plus the write-ups posted here give me a good feeling about it
