What difference do rep points make? Arnie has pointed out time and time again they are not to be taken as seriously as individuals seem to. He introduced the system originally to ensure a positive feedback system for traders, but it rapidly became misused by just about everyone. As a result your rep points are totally meaningless. You can tell far more about the individual through the content of their posts rather than the random amount of points others have decided to reward them with.

Because clearly we have nothing better to do. Like moderating the forums.

I went mad with fine grain sandpaper across the RPK. Works quite well - look on the RA galleries to see.

Just an update on that: found the batteries and tried the thing out. It's feeding a treat with no problems I can detect as of yet. I'll try to stress-test it tomorrow when there's more light.

My bad. It appears the magazine is just a little too wide for the mag well of the receiver. With a bit of sanding it might fit yet...

Apologies to the RA members here: this is a duplicate message for Arnies members not registered there: Be wary if you buy a Hero Arms AK drum mag. The lip of the magazine is not compatible with the guarder steel receiver - it effectively will just fall out at the front, as the lip is not long enough. The same happens with the 104. At present I'm not sure if I can mod the lip to rectify the problem. All the same, here's some pictures of it: [/img] As you can see the finish is very different to the guarder steel receiver. They're not an effective measure of anything, really. They can be easily abused either by offended children who negrep those who disagree with them, or by other members by offering to post pictures of something or other or do something in exchange for rep points. The whole system as it stands doesn't really serve any practical purpose, in short. But hey, it's here, and it'll be more hassle to remove than to leave as it is, so we might as well just get on with things.

Just an attempt clarify a few things, as I know this confused me when I actively got started in the sport a year or so ago: The legal limit for the UK is not 328fps. Rather this is a limit many sites in the UK have committed to, following discussions a while ago with the Home Office on what would be acceptable. The legal limit, if i recall is 1.35j. This is the point where a bb was judged to cause trauma on impact. 328fps translates to 1j with a 0.2g bb.
