Operation: East Wind IV over in the US. It was 9 days of milsim in a sort of alternate history sort of event. Basically the Wall never came down and it was all kicking off between the commies and Nato in 1991. The level of kit those guys have collected is amazing and it is all period correct stuff. NVGs were issued out to those who needed them and I was even playing being serious with a thermal imaging unit. It was some pretty serious stuff at times with all the kit you could need and I am glad I went. I believe a report will be cropping up somewhere soon on here and should have all the decent

Pics not by me but by 'Claymore' of Oklahoma Invasion and D. Furnas. Stood on top of a bus awaiting out pick up in our own lines after going out on one of the first patrols along the border. We were still in a state of peace with no indications as such of a coming war so at this point no batteries or mags were in the guns and goggles were off. It was a warm day so I had taken off my webbing for a quick look up on top of the bus. The amount of help and assistance the lads running it are giving me to make it as seamless and easy as possible to attend makes it all worth while and I can't thank them enough.

What sort of gear did you pick up for it? Shoot me a PM as I'd be interested to hear about the PASGT helmet, body armor, etc.

I'll give it a good reviewing once I have skirmished it on the 5th. For years I was of the opinion G&G were terrible but I have heard nothing but good about their SCAR.

I placed a couple of orders through survival aids a couple of weeks ago. Both orders were partially shipped with emails telling me there will be a couple of week delays on the remaining items. Only had one email since to tell me one of the delayed items has been shipped out to me. The delays isn't a problem for me as long as I have them in time for flying out to the States on 9th March for East Wind IV. Still doesn't help people who ned stuff quick though...

Well, that is a choice that you have to make yourself. I have lots of pairs of gloves from issued gloves, aftermarket tactical gloves such as Oakleys, Blackhawk and Damascus and the likes of motorcross and mountain biking gloves and it's simply a case of finding a pair that suits you. Even just from Sunday skirmishing I have totalled a good few pairs of gloves so for me it is worth buying a pair I know is going to last rough treatment, even if it is just for every other Sunday.

I happen to agree. The Solags have been a solid set of gloves as far as I am concerned, whereas the Oakleys both in black and tan that I have, have had a tendency to wear out on various parts of the palm and also where the two materials meet.
