  1. Here are a few comparison shots of the day and night attributes of the Cerakoted Kimber TEII. During normal daylight its contrasting colour scheme is obvious, but in unnatural light it coating makes it revert back to a more tradional Kimber black appearance. The RS KimPro II coating is even glossier than Cerakote, so it rarely looks the same in any photograph. Bear in mind there is a Kimber Tactical Custom which has a light grey frame compared to the dark grey of the TEII frame. Cheers.
  2. Costa Recon 1911 This is a Tokyo Marui based kit released by Ocean Custom Tactical (OCT-Japan), it is made by Prime/Nova and then later Cerakoted and Laser-Engraved in Japan. If you held out until the very end like me you might of got it at a discounted price, as the original full price of $800 was well beyond a lot of people including the Japanese collectors. Either way getting $160 off just about put it into my Christmas Present price range Rather than buy some of the harder to get Anvil parts which some of were not available anyhow, I had some of my spare Nova parts Cerakoted
  3. I'm really confused now, WE release an M&P that's basically defective due to Dodgy hammer-sear components, but they release a reinforced sear for an XDM ? So is this part for the XDM compatible with the M&P, and it's just WE's way of releasing a fix without admitting a fault with the original product ? Time to take apart an XDM to find out http://www.airsoftglobal.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=634_239&products_id=17463
  4. I didn't get a chance to take any decent shots yet, but here is an iPhone photo to keep you going
  5. Cheers Mate, Just out of curiosity yet again Let us know how the cear compares in size or appearance to the original, and even better if it works. Thanks.
  6. Hey Sunburnthammer, Do you know if the replacement parts have been re-shaped or just slightly larger than original hammer-sear piece ? Cheers. Squad.
  7. @ CKinnerly - Top shot of Nickel S70 turned out nice, as they are notoriously hard to photograph. @ ForkTailedDevil - Nice Tactical Entry II, which coincidentally is my next project, correcting the colours on mine @ Icolater - No problems with Cerakoted parts except for the thumb-Safeties are a lot tighter than normal, but a bit of gentle rubbing under the surface of the Safeties with Scotch Brite or equivalent to smooth them down where the coatings make contact. All the parts were Cerakoted, except for the sights. @ Kenxin - yes that's the S70 truly finished now, I added a Nova
  8. Colt 1911 Series 70 - TM/Nova
  9. Hey Kenxin, I'll post some fresh shots for you next week, when hopefully I'll have a few special items Here are a few close-up shots to remind us its been a good year for Nova 1911 kits.
  10. Hi guys, The rail-adaptor is included with the new Pro-Size/Commander kits of 2013, but NOT included with the fullsize versions anymore, also the part is identical to the Airsoft Surgeon part as I was comparing them a few weeks back. Generally I find with tolerances it's better to use the rail-bar with screw that was included with the MEUs, as the rail-adaptor can push the front of the slide up a FRACTION of a MM enough to barely expose the recoil spring inside when you examine the gun sideways held up to the light, the only downside being that the slide can feel looser when installin
  11. A wonderfully unique looking Sig Sauer, the beavertail and grips combo are Cool, nice to see they used Carom trigger and hammer for the build.
  12. Fireknife is too busy having 'Sexy Time' I think he has other two-tone plans made for that particular gun, so might not be of consequence. Anyhow I'm not complaining as the Mag has made its quick trip to its new home, and finished off my Kimber SIS nicely, here are a few quick iPhone shots. Thanks Fireknife, received nice and quickly, appreciated - Cheers.
  13. Much of a Muchness there Inari The slightly more reflective finish on the PAP doesn't come across too well in the photos, compared to the more Matt Detonator, unfortunately the PAP has a few cosmetic inaccuracies, not to mention the fact it weights in at a slightly top-heavy 957g. Basically a very nice Replica with a few mistakes, but the Detonator is the obvious winner, it would be nice to own both Yes the PAP is a full steel finish with a fabulous coating - really nice. No idea of the price as its not mine as stated, and was bought 7-8 years ago minimum, I never even hea
  14. Yes I have a few of them alright scattered around my bunker But there are lots of other people out there with collections much bigger than my few, you know who you are
  15. Here are a few shots of the Rare PAP Steel-Slide/Barrel KSC USP Compact kit (pre-System 7), kindly donated by a good friend for some photographs and comparison with the Detonator kit. Personally, I honestly don't know anything abut the history of the maker of the slide, so have not got too many details to share, but the quality and finish is among the best I've seen, and I've seen them all It dates back to approximately 2007, I have never seen this particular kit before, so enjoy the shots all you Jack Bauer fans Left : Detonator (Korea) Right : PAP . Left : PAP Right : D
  16. I'd say you were sorry to see it go BigAl, it would also definitely be one of my favourites too, it was returned to its rightful owner, but I might have to resort to some heavy-handed trading tactics to get it back I was hoping Nova might bring one out, but rumour has it they are finished their current run of 1911's for the time being, and have also decided not to pursue the Ultra sizes in TM kits due to the problem of having to supply the magazine. They can change their minds at a moments notice but cash is king
  17. Correct Whiteknight - yet again There is no pulling the wool over the eyes of our more Advanced Members Unfortunately there are no prizes, but here are a few more shots and straight comparison alongside the TM MEU, I was fortunate enough to have a good friend who let me borrow this particular WA Prime/MEU which is considerably rare now, I think its the best part of nearly 10 years old by now. The Early-Version of the MEU was always very popular, but sadly only available in short supply, I think its nearly time again for a re-release. WA MEU w. Prime-Kit and comparison shots w
  18. Yes indeed, its probably a better example of an INO .45 - better than the few that I did get a chance to hold. A bit of Beretta gun-oil does them no harm Here is another shot to tease the brains of the well-informed
  19. Bang on Whiteknight, well spotted
  20. If you had to keep only one 1911A1 Military Style, which one of these would you choose ?
  21. Another Nova kit, and another first for the Tokyo Marui platform is the Colt Combat Commander, with a similar polished-finish to the previous Nova 'Series 70' and 'Raptor' kits, its extremely good value for money considering previous prices of Prime kits and WA ABS models, unfortunately by the time you've bought a few matching Nova parts, you've practically paid for the kit again, I wouldn't recommend either the Nova slide-catch or thumb-safety as they are more of a Matt Black Steel finish, compared to the real-steel more gloss-like appearance of the parts on the TM 'Series 70' which I wo
  22. It sounds like there is a kink in the chain there, they were always top notch bar the shipping prices of course, but my last order a few months back of a WE pistol and various parts, they cut the foam insert that holds the pistol in half, to make space in the box to hold the parts I ordered, very ecologically sound of them to recycle my box before I even got it :-)
  23. Yes indeed, these polished-slide kits from Nova are something else, but like Big Al said they would look great in a case or display, as they are quite striking. Nova are on a roll at the moment, I hate to think what's in store for the rest of the year, I've heard rumours of kits becoming available of guns only previously available on the Western Arms Platform, I think if your a 1911 fan, the year ahead is going to have plenty of goodies in store :-) Just when I said I was finished with 1911s - Murphy's Law ;-)
