  1. I wish ASGiTV had higher production values... It's downright amateur.
  2. I'm sorted, thanks! Looks like I'll be good to go in a heartbeat.
  3. Sure, if you want to call them that. Tru-Spec makes a TRU line, it's mediocre but good enough for airsoft if you want a COTS option. As far as I'm aware, the first commercially offered RAID BDUs were offered through SpecWarGear, anything else is a ripoff of their 'RAID' name but everyone calls them that anyway.
  4. Yes, yours are sensible - I've seen people with almost every one of MilSpecMonkey's designs slathered all over their body, and they were serious about it.
  5. Good to know. Right now I'm trying to find a spare AGM upper as a spare upper while I wait for the metal receiver set (G&P) to come in. Ideally I'd have two metal uppers as opposed to a metal and a plastic one, but the AGM uppers are out of stock everywhere so it looks like I missed the boat.
  6. It is in fact the plastic receiver version! The receiver is very solid, and very nice. I'll be keeping the upper as is, and building another upper with the metal receiver that's flying over to me as we speak. We're actually still issued the Matech BUIS, but I prefer the Troy design over the Matech. Aside from the receiver markings, I'm trying to build a copy of my issued M4. Blowback is strong, enough so that I'm wondering if the hard recoil spring set I purchased from eBayBanned will do bad things to my receiver. The RIS is an A&K model, and needed to have the front retainer repla
  7. JG M4 GBB as it was several hours ago: AS it is now:
  8. RAID BDU is (now) the generic term for a BDU that has been modified to suit the end user, usually involving the placement of pockets and velcro. In airsoft, it generally means trying to get as much space to slap patches and pogey-bait as possible. The Army Combat Uniform incorporates many of the 'RAID' style changes.
  9. I'm not a fan of velcro - it wears out too damn fast with regular use, but I think for airsoft it'll be ok. That said, the modded Chicom above looks great. Really good work!
  10. Do you have a picture? Not sure what you mean - I take it the distortion is around the bottom, where you insert the pads?
  11. No, the pads are in permanently. I saw no reason to remove them, I'd just wear another pair of pants! I'm not experiencing a height problem, the pads are spaced to the top of the pocket, and hit my knees perfectly. They're not adjustable - that said, the legs will be adjustable around the kneepad area to prevent them from shifting around when moving.
  12. Continuing my trend of modifying my gear to suit my wants/needs/random urges: Took a set of woodland pants in size Large, and played with them a bit. Took pockets from a woodland top, moved them over the knees, took the cargo pockets and moved them to the rear, added some UR-Tactical kneepads (improvements on the Crye pads, for sure), and ripped the blousing bands from the legs. Instead of the bands I put in some shock cord and cord locks so that I can have a tight seal even when wearing the pants unbloused. I've got a bit more planned, however. I am going to add a pocket from a BDU
  13. Why does it say 'Magpul Ind stries?'
  14. My issued ACH just got a helluva lot more awesome: It's the 1280x720p version. Suffers from a bit of fishbowl but it's a !@&%ing cool tool to have.
  15. Why are you rappelling down a vertical wall without a brain bucket and with the rifle in your hand? *sigh*
  16. Yes it is... The brain drain flap goes in the back, dude...
  17. The delay is there but only noticeable on rapid scanning. It's like a literal ghost in the tube, it's kind of distracting and disorienting actually. That said, I'm not an experienced NVG user so I took time to make sure I didn't bust my face. Yeah, they were still the 'hot box' design.
  18. No clue. We were using them for about 6 hours straight (at most), but I don't know how often the batteries were swapped or what the life is.
  19. It's like Predator, but as done by 12 year old kids. In all seriousness, the technology is BAD *albatross*. I wish I was issued them as standard, because they're cool as *fruitcage*. Haji's got nothin' on the eye of Allah.
  20. Issued, no clue. I played with them for PEO. That said, the ones we were playing with were rubberized or something. At one point we even were instructed to bang them into the conex farm as we crept around playing ninja at 3am. They held up ok but we nuked two of them from horrible misuse. Not sure what was going on but the impression I got was that they're working on constant improvements. Oh, and - thermal vision of your battle pissing in the woods is childishly amusing.
  21. It is awesome. We got to play with them as part of a T&E event... 7 days straight with the things, they're heavy. We didn't get the cool guy mount though, I don't know anything about that.
  22. Nice looking photo blackhaggis! A shame about all that pre-fired ammo!
