    Tanaka M&P M10

The M10 has much better accuracy due to the longer barrel, then secondly, an improved cylinder pocket/barrel alignment design.
  3. The NBB is externally the same as the GBB Maruzen, but its a boring NBB....also, you can't rack the slide, like with the TM SOCOM.
  4. This may be a cheaper way to get range and power out of the VSR series, right? Cause I was gonna upgrade my old 'Spec, but it would cost something like $300 to completely upgrade it with Zero trigger setup, teflon cylinder, spring, spring guide, etc..... and I didn't want a 600 dollar spring rifle... I have one very pressing and important question: there's no argument that this thing increases the VSR's power. BUT, HOW DOES IT AFFECT ACCURACY AND CONSISTENCY? Does the fact that the gas bolt doesn't have the capacity and design of the Tanaka PEGASUS magazines affect its cooldown FPS dro
  5. I noticed it too, I'd like to rephrase that statement, in that handling many KJW FMVs (the epitomy of casted pot metal) the hammer is unlike anything I've experienced, so my impression of it that it's machined....not 100% on that. Let's say it is casted though, as the seam line is a dead giveaway. The hammer is still beefier and DARE I say...sturdier than the spindly thin one on the Tanaka SAAs and .38s.
  6. Marushin Blackhawk Mini-Review Intro Released in January of 2005, Marushin added the Sturm Ruger single action Blackhawk to their lineup of 8mm, shell loading revolvers. Being quite attractive in silver, and having been bored of my Tanaka SAA, I put in the order to Redwolf and got one for $160 shipped. I actually sold this gun a while ago, but never bothered to publish the writeup until now...so I apologize for the delay. First impressions: The Marushin Blackhawk has far more metal content than any revolver you'd believe, including Tanaka's "HW" models and the Mar
  7. Thank you; I can't wait to get my hands on the 2006 R-1s!
  8. Just thought you guys might be interested, but I fired a real-steel Beretta M9 military type last weekend, and although the recoil has got to be over 5 times as hard as the KJW M9 FMV, the real-steel looks EXACTLY like the KJW black FMV and feels the same (of course the real steel is quite a bit heavier though). Besides the weight, working safety/decocker, Beretta grips, and the small Beretta trademarks on the real-steel, one could really be challenged to pick the real-steel apart from the KJW FMV if they were both lying next to each other in dim light. So, kudos to KJW for making su

Where'd you get this information from? Do you have a link and/or pics? If they really are releasing a Marui AK-47 clone for under $150 I'd save up for that too!

    Utg MP5 AEG

Airsoft Atlanta says the UTG is a Marui clone with a Version 2 Gearbox, 250 FPS stock with .2 KSC BBs, and takes all Marui MP5 upgrades and magazines. The gears are also metal, not plastic.

I'd definitely buy this as a low FPS CQB gun and plinker if its 90 dollars AND has DECENT quality. I have no intention on upgrading of course, as I only upgrade my gas guns, but I think we'd really like some chrono results, accuracy tests and reliability measures soon....
  12. IronWolf, The Redhawk's more of stable long range performer with .45 BBs. .34s are fine up to around 50 feet, then half the time they begin to swerve. Firefox, oh yes, I'm stalking you. In fact as I'm typing this I'm outside your bedroom window on my laptop, watching you sleep....so peacefully Silent, the M10 is one of the best performing revolvers I've ever used, due to Tanaka's new design that addresses the poor hopup and barrel to cylinder alignment issues older models had. The M10 is fairly consistent in mid-300s FPS (can't say the exact number due to forum rules, right?) an
  13. Didn't Leon use a Raging Bull? Anyway, the Python and Anaconda look nice, but are nearly useless in double action, and with the Anaconda, the gas transfer tube is molded into the grip frame. This means, if you use green gas, you risk rupturing it and cracking the frame.... Again, great showpieces and plinkers with 134A. Poor for skirmishing. The revolvers I know to last a while on green gas are the Redhawk and Blackhawk. DirectorCass (on this forum) has been using his Bull on green gas, but his gas transfer ruptured. Was later fixed with some JB-weld, but if this happens in
  14. You are correct. Double action means each pull of the trigger cocks the hammer AND releases it onto the gas release valve. Single action, like on the Marushin Ruger Blackhawk and the Tanaka SAA series, means you cock the hammer manually for every shot, and release the hammer by pulling the trigger. If you are truly looking for a quality shell loader revolver, look no further than the Marushin Blackhawk in silver, 7.5 inch. It's by far one of the highest quality airsoft revolvers I've used, and loading the shells is a pure joy.
  15. that sucks, I have been searching again and again and have found no places to get model guns and caps in the US. Well, there is one place that sells the caps, but no guns... Sounds like I'll have to stick with airsoft until its real-steel permit time.
  16. Marushin RedHawk .44 Magnum, 7.5 inch Heavyweight model.
  17. The only thing that concerns me is 1) parts breaking due to the gunpowder's explosive power, and not being able to find replacement parts 2) Not getting these "percussion caps" locally in Hawaii (USA). Do you need to import these from Marushin and MGC from HK, or does a local sporting and/or real-steel gun store have these? Rizzo, PM sent EDIT: Also wondering if the Kokusai and Marushin PFC Revolvers have any recoil, and if they do, is it decent? Any muzzle flash and/or smoke?
  18. Yes you can, Marushin makes both. They're not the best skirmish weapons due to the horrible double action, but they're more than good enough for showpieces/plinking.
  19. nice cap guns. Anyone tried the Marushin ones yet? Luger, SAA, Model 2, Webley.... How much does the "ammunition" cost you and where do you get it from? Do you simply reload the included bullet casings with the powder?
  20. very good analysis by a real-steel gun owner. +1
  21. I am pondering the Tanaka SAA Calvary 7.5 inch HW (I've owned the silver before, too light and I worry about the finish holding up in a firefight or harsh skirmish environment!). Can anyone give some more accuracy figures? 888's review bespeaks of not-so-good accuracy until some hard-to-source parts are installed (no thanks, if I'm going to pay 200 shipped for an airsoft SAA I want it to shoot as straight as the next kid's KWA G19). I didn't do any sort of accuracy tests on my old silver SAA, sadly. I do know that it's an older design than the Tanaka M500 and M10 (easily the most a

    Tanaka M&P M10

I would imagine FPS consistency would be poor because of the tiny gas cylinder, but it does punch through my cardboard target box with no issues, so I'm thinking at LEAST 280 FPS....However, I will try to run it through a chrono for some actual figures. About the weak shots after gas settling, I haven't noticed this issue with the revolver, but I've only let it sit about 5-10 minutes before firing it off. The chrono will answer these questions shortly though... The title pic....a little inside joke. I attend the University of Hawaii @ Manoa, and in one of the US's most restrictive
  23. History The modern Smith and Wesson M10 has its roots dating back to 1899, when Smith and Wesson first developed their .38 Long Colt hand ejector revolver. Many would consider this piece to be the beginnings of the first modern revolver, with a swing-out cylinder and easy reloading, compared to the archaic fixed cylinder revolvers of the past. In 1902, S&W chambered the .38 hand ejector for their newly developed .38 special round, though it was chambered for other calibers as well. In the Indiana jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indy touts a Smith and Wesson .38 2nd gen. hand ejec
