Reason ? There are serious technical issues with G36, related to heat created while shooting in harsh combat environment. Lost of zero, etc. Ergo - polymer is not THAT good, when one want to put some reliable rifle together...

I thought more about Troy MRF Battle Rails. They really caught my eye some time ago. And one more thing - You are not picky - You just have clear and defined taste . You aren't the only one who wouldn't buy any rail .

Troy (I'm not sure if airsoft replica in FDE/tan/whatever exists) ? PWS (that's what I'm going to do) ? DD Lite Rail, or Omega or OmegaX ?

In my personal case building a replica of as You call it "issued rifle" wasn't a goal. I just like mk18 rail more than others - and that's all . Two years ago mk18 was not so often seen on airsoft AR-15 clones, what made it more unique. But I guess it usually works that way - more often we see something, more we get used to it, and sometimes it's start to be boring . And because thread already went slightly OT - have You heard about non standard magazines (PMAGs) being banned by US Military ?

Little question. I've been thinking about building short barreled AR-10 but its upper receiver seem to be a little bit higher than AR-15 one and I doubt if I can attach any airsoft AR-15 RIS replica into its bigger brother upper - at least it looks like that when I look at pictures of SR-25 replicas, where surface of RIS top rail is placed a bit lower comparing to receiver rail. Please just look at this picture - now I'm a little bit confused, because what I see here is Madbull's Noveske rail (most likely) with top rail being higher... http://photos.xaviermace.com/images/A_0/3/2/2/322

ACM ? ...UBR looks better on those than on most of AR's...

Amount of Block II CQBR clones, that appeared within last year, makes me thinking of switching on some other rail... PWS maybe... .

Did anyone here try to match G&P lower with King Arms or Madbull upper ? Is it possible in terms of geometry ? (not counting the issue of KA operating bolt catch)

Nice one . BTW - its pictures clearly shows obvious difference between anodizing and powder coating. In obvious favor of anodizing... I'm still extremely curious about Cerakote and have to figure out how to ship this damn thing to Europe...

I just masked around with modeling masking tape and sprayed black with an airbrush and... ...two years later I removed paint completely for anodizing of both receivers. So I guess playing with selector markings was just a waste of time .

No doubt... VIS upper itself costs same as e.x. G&P v5...
