  1. Yup. Got a FDE (aka bronze) M4A1 RIS II several months ago. The Magpuls just would not close. Even tried pliers and such. Then I tried the new Troy rail covers. Tough going. Tried a block of wood and light hammer--and still they wouldn't slide on. Backed off, as I said, to Larue. Rails on the two sides seem to be slightly wider than the rail on the bottom, but even it is out of spec. You need to use something soft, like the index clips or ladder covers with these.
  2. Yeah, that's what I thought. I don't know why Mad Bull can't manufacture an in-spec 20mm picatinny rail. Seems kinda basic.
  3. Are those Magpul covers fully engaged? It may be the photo, but it looks like there's a bigger gap between the halves that I usually see. I had one rail (Mad Bull RIS II) that was out of spec on the large size, and I just could not get the Magpuls to click together however hard I pushed. Fell back onto Larue index clips, which are more foregiving.
  4. Most certainly. Shooters Design STI-Eagle hybrid slide (w/ recoil plug) Shooters Design STI chamber Shooters Design hybrid outer barrel Guarder spring guide Nine Ball inner barrel Nine Ball bucking Shooters Design recoil spring and hammer spring Shooters Design grip TSC magwell 5KU mag base KM aluminum trigger Nine Ball extended slide stop BBU and hammer: stock TM Likely going to put on Nova slide safeties and grip safety/beavertail to complete the effect... Tried a Nine Ball hi-flo valve in the mag, but it actually preferred the stock TM.
  5. Pretty sure it's pure G&P. They make a body kit with Vltor MUR upper and Magpul lower. It was also featured in some special versions of the Sentry.
  6. Because the imperial thread is slightly bigger diameter, I believe it will fit on to quite a number of receiver threads. The real problem is the other way round, when you go to fit a metric barrel nut on to a G&P receiver.
  7. That's odd. By TM spec you mean the metric thread size, right?, not the older non-real-steel-style delta assembly that TM used to use. I bought a G&P delta ring set (nut, spring, delta) off eHobbyAsia and the nut was definitely imperial.
  8. It depends on what kind of RIS it is. I'm not familiar with your particular model. If it is a one-piece, and especially if it uses a proprietary barrel nut, they you would definitely have problems. But I'm guessing that this is a two-piece, and that it may well use the standard delta-ring-style nut. G&P receiver threads are different, so at the very least you would need a G&P barrel nut--cheap enough. I'm also assuming that the rails fit into a "real-steel"-style delta ring (rather than the different airsoft style used in older TMs and JGs and ICSs, among others).
  9. See posts ## 4, 5, 6, & 7 in this thread.
  10. EMags are slimmer than the other versions of PMag--they fit in a wide range of magwells. Simplest might be to try a regular PMag--a Pmag in Sentry has minimal wobble.
  11. That's a Nine Ball SAS Front Kit, isn't it? The scope mount clearly attaches to the accessory rail on the Nine Ball. The only place I've found this particular mount is as a package deal included with a KWC P226 X-5; haven't found it sold separately anywhere.
  12. BTW, Emerson seems to have morphed into James. By the end of the year, I predict we'll be seeing Thoreau Plate Carriers.
  13. Yeah. I forget in quite what order, but so far we've had: -the original Masada -the folding stock -the CQB barrel -the RIS -the slim-line handguard -the AKM version What's missing from this list?
  14. It's odd, though, isn't it, that RA-Tech/Airsoft Taiwan are selling it more cheaply than any of the HK sites.
  15. Don't know this for certain, but there have been several little details and pointers out there that suggest to me that this pistol was actually cloned in Taiwan, rather than China. Whatever the geography, it will be interesting to see, in the fullness of time, whether they got it sufficiently right that all the parts are swappable with the TM.
  16. Full metal (and heavy!). Partly the camera (or my lack of photographic technique), and partly the paint, which is a sort of satin eggshell finish in a very dark chocolate brown.
  17. Yes, the nut unscrews normally (the way you're used to). Obviously, the rail is a copy of a Daniel Defense design. DD make a special nut wrench that fits into those four small square cut-outs. *Unfortunately*, G&P's dimensions are not quite accurate, and the RS wrench does not work (it fits perfectly on Mad Bull's versions of the DD rails, however, FWIW). That being the case, you need to find some implement/tool that you can wedge/clamp on to the nut that will give you some good leverage. The Sentry I bought from EHA didn't have its nut loctited, it was just screwed on tight. I
  18. Here's a strong recommendation. Excellent products, low prices, and good service: http://www.eliteairsoftbatteries.com/
  19. OMG, you'll never get it back...
