Pardon my ignorance, but why is a bit of Russian stamped steel so expensive? Surely they're churned out in their thousands?

It is in part due to the whole "they are absolute evil" in political arena that has denied access to anyone trying to sell off a warehouse of these, if such a thing exists. While there may have been quite a lot of dragunovs produced, the number of bipods is likely less so, and then number of them imported is even fewer. Hmm, did my last comment get chopped off? I finished it by saying that I don't even have a proper scope yet, and a bipod for more than what it would take to get one is nuts. The knockoff bipods would need reinforcement to be usable, and even then I would be wary.
