the cleaner
I've got $500 to spend on airsoft purchase(s). 3 choices: 1) a new full metal Prime kit: CDP II, Springfield Micro, V12,etc 2) Escort MP5A5 A-spec DIY (do it yourself) 3) Sun Project M16/XM 'bout me: 1) I already have several full metal 1911s. . mainly compacts. . and I've craving for more compacts. 2) I already own 3x Youth Engineering MP5SD6s and 2x Youth Engineering MP5A5s. 5 total. 20 mags between them. 3) I already own a Shoei MG42 (the king of blowback in the realm of Escort powered guns) so SPs do not wow me that much, but they ARE definitely nice. having a tough time deciding.. . Give me your reasons. Don't just state which gun to get. Thanks!
evilliboba
I'd go for the 1911. I don't think one needs 6 MP5s. A stock SP M16 is meh. SP needs a lot of upgrades to get to the sweet spot. You can never have to many pistols.
hardboiledcop
I'd buy the micro or kimber cdp II ultra (if you don't already have one).. I'm planning to build the full-size CDP II soon, sexy sexy melt-job and 288 bucks? no contest really..
the cleaner
Escort MP5s are nice because they can use AEG mags. . That's about it. .and I can loan it to my friends who still use an AEG MP5. I'd probably only get one just to say I've owned one. . . . It's not like the Escort is super advantageous over my YEs. .since i have 20x YE MP5 mags. . more than enough for me to skirmish with really. I'm totally aware of SPs in stock formation. . .and what it takes to get one running reliably. I would only buy this if I could get it used and at a really good price. .. I'd never pay full retail for one for sure. I'm definitely leaning towards the Ultra CDP II. . it will be my Ultra Raptor's evil-twin (or the other way around). Then again. . My Tommy Franks and V10s may need a lil-brother if I get the Springfield Micro. . LOL I'm even considering the Prime Kimber Pro (4.3). .that will look nice beside my Wilson Pro. Yeager
Spice is the variety of life.. Get the m4, you've got pretty much everything else.
Ledpocket
Get one of the micros. They're not worth the $400 smackers, but they sure are cool Or wait for Prime to release the next batch of micro's late summer.
the cleaner
Spice is the variety of life.. Get the m4, you've got pretty much everything else. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ahh. . but my LR300 (and SR47) more than satisfieds any need for another armalite variant.. . unless I gut the SP and put it into my SR47 (oooohhh, that would be nice!) Eclipse series and what? shoot. . maybe I'll wait for the AMT Hardballer kit (which I'm sure Prime is going to release).

Ledpocket
I had a convo with boomarms after ordering the out of stock ultra raptor...they only had the cdp and the springfield left My question: Do you know of any future ultra-compact kits coming out? (in black) Their reply: For the Next item of Ultra Compact size in Black color would be "Ultra Carry II", Maybe launch in around the end of Summer. B.Rdgs Boomarms I got that back from them 6/4/07. http://www.kimberamerica.com/pistols/ultracarry/

IronWolf
What about the Vickers Nighthawk kit? They're getting harder to find by the day and I don't recall seeing any pics of a vickers nighthawk with the kit fitted. that or put it towards the Escort 416...
the cleaner
Vickers isn't bad ..good suggestion. . Escort 416? ehhh. . not much different from any other SP. .just a new body. .no magic in that. . . But an Escort SR47 or Escort LR300. .now you're talking! If you're familiar with the SP, then you'd know that Escort would need to make a custom short stroke for the LR, since it doesn't have a buffer tube like regular armalites. . . Anyway, 500 dollars is exactly what BoomArms quoted me for a Kimber Swat II + Prime CDP II kit, and I'm sure you could get a chamber/springs in there for cheap if you badgered them.. Belladonna
why so many mp5s and 1911s? surely something different is caleld for?
hardboiledcop
heresy! you can never have too many 1911s. Mp5s? meh...

amateurstuntman
If you want a small, sexy gun that is rare but very good and has some tuning potential I would recommend a WA M4013 TSW with the prime kit, the prime kit is rare but it is avaliable if you search and you won't see many people with one. the cleaner
why so many mp5s and 1911s? surely something different is caleld for? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> well. .I have quite a variety already (have you seen my profile and PARTIAL arsenal?) so many MP5s? have you ever fired a CO2 powered full metal gas blowback MP5 A5 or SD with full suppression? Ahh. .now you're in a whole new world far from AEGs. besides, I got all the MP5s in case I want to gut the engines out and put them into other custom guns. . .like a gas blowback MP18 Bergmann, PPSH41, M249s etc. . too many 1911s? well. .you can have too many stock WA 1911s. . but full metal WAs? You cannot get enough of them . .let alone full metal WA COMPACT 1911s!

I could almost buy two guns instead of blowing it all on one WA. . I even considered the metal slided Delta trial SIG Pro 2340. . .but then we start talking metal slide/polymer frame. . it doesn't compare to a metal slide/metal frame 1911. But to keep to my posting topic. . 1911(which one), Escort MP5 or SP M16/XM. . I appreciate all those that have offered some advice.. .keep them coming, please!
hardboiledcop
Kimber CDP II Kimber Ultra CDP II Kimber Raptor II? (BA have some more stock coming in..) Springer V12 Springer Micro -- or [shameless salesman] you could buy my prime p226 for 500 shipped [/shameless salesman]
the cleaner
DOH!!! I had to do it. .I blew most of my funds on 4x WA gbbs as opposed to one single item. but I didn't do all that bad. I recently picked up: 1) RARE WA SV Tactical Carry "BULLDOG" (Magna, 3.9 railframe w/ strike face) 2) stock OD Kimber TLE/RL II + extra mag 3) WA SCW Wilson Combat w/ metal Wilson CQB Service Grade slide 4) stock WA Colt Gunsite (Magna) well. .I guess it's back to selling some stuff off and saving up for the end of the summer (for the Prime compact 1911s). ..
