BigAl
Plus surely the HK416 has a sufficient visual resemblance to an Armalite that if Colt wished to get snotty over it Colt probably could get snotty over it. They did why do you think HK changed the name from HK M4 to HK 416. Colt subsequently lost the court case though.
Thorbard
That was the name, not the image.
TXP
Again: the Look of the AR15 ist NOT a registered design patent of Colt. Otherwise companys like Bushmaster, Noveske, DPMS etc. couldn't exist. It's not possible that HK can claim a design patent on the AR15 Lower as it's arround for a long time and not their invention. BUT: they can claim a design patent on the HK416 Upper, the Rail System, the Sights and so on. Everything that makes the look of an HK416 unique is affected by the design patent. hokeyplyr48
so what's the overall concensus? is the 416 disappearing or is this just a strange occurence? because i think the VFC is much better than the hurricane. didn't like the shiny look of the hurricane. ayyno
From what I heard, the VFC HK416s weren't all that great to begin with. I have no personal experience so I can't vouch for it...but a local airsmith in my area was not impressed with the internal quality at all.
hokeyplyr48
but even if you have to swap out most of the internals, i'd buy it just for the beautiful body. actually that's what i was planning on doing anyway, buying it then swapping out the internals for a DMR-ish setup
Yatsum
What's up? Censured of their website, and still fabricated? Or not..? :s
NeoVeNoM
the VFC 416 DX version came back on in stock at WGC. I ordered it last week. I'll see what happens when I get my shipment confirmation.
TXP
Latest victim of Umarex seems to be the CA36 Line from Classic Army... it's no longer on their Homepage. Could be a result of a newly registered trademark on the terms "G36" and "MP5"...
