j e F f
On one of the gunfire promotions, there is a picture of a marine holding a Thompson, but on the bottom of the magazine there appears to be a fill valve? Does that mean a gbb Thompson is gonna be released soon? pic related https://gunfire.pl/data/include/img/links/1505996957.jpg
renegadecow
There's the one by WE which had shown a production prototype as early as last year. But they recently announced it's tied with Cybergun so who knows when it'll actually be out, or if at all.
bankz5152
King Arms one too
ED-SKaR
King arms was a 28, so I'm only interested in that. The WE/cyberscum one is an M1 or M1a.
Brigg
King Arms stated a long while back that the 1928a1 they were working on was being put on indefinite hold due to being low priority. Frankly the videos popping up about it at the time showed it to be very poor in the actual shoot8ng department. So it seems they couldn't quite get it to work properly. NonEx
FYI I asked KY Airsoft on Facebook regarding the WE Thompson and they said that the major production stock is ready, licensing is ready and they are awaiting confirmation regarding release date (which is to be determined as far as I know. The Disavowed
I would love a gbb tommy gun, preferably the 1928 typewriter, but if the older one I can pop it into a pulse rifle, so happy either way. Got to imagine that a 48 round drum mag would be great for gas!
tquilha
Does anyone know if WE's mags for the Thompson will be XX or XXX sized? (only for the WW2/SMG geeks)
renegadecow
Looks like 20 rounders in the recent video.
Horsem4n
Apparently, we had a firable production looking version on the floor. One of the WE pages posted it on Facebook, and I seem to can't find it, of someone firing it and doing half a mag dump. Ran pretty smooth and had a longer mag, so maybe they'll too both lengths. renegadecow
this is the one with a 30 rounder https://www.facebook.com/WE.Taitan/videos/1976585245888647/ and here's one with 20 https://www.facebook.com/kicairsoftshop/videos/1667517043298397/
j e F f
That actually looks pretty good. Bolt doesn't seem to slow down like the m4/l85/scar platform gbbrs.
tquilha
Likey. Let's hope they make a L drum.
harborne blue
I'll believe it when I see it on pre-order...
Brigg
Likey. Let's hope they make a L drum. they could, but the thompson m1 and m1a1 didnt have drum magazines. the bracket for mounting them was removed as well as it being redesigned into an open bolt. previous versions were closed bolt using a blish lock system that didnt really do anything. i could see WE making a drum for it anyway though, even if it wouldnt be accurate to the real thing. You mean that the Thompson was changed from "delayed blowback" with the Blish lock, to "straight blowback" with it removed. Every version of the Thompson was open bolt until the reproductions later on when US law restricted open bolt firearms(Which I think was 1982, havn't done the research). NonEx
KY Airsoft posted on Facebook that the WE Thompson should be arriving around mid-late December.
