IvanD
Hey, I'm currently looking for a new loadout and I think I found mine, but I don't know what they are So do you think you can help me? If you have seen Black Hawk Down, or have the disc. Can you tell me what the Rangers and Delta's are wearing? I know the BDU, 3 color desert, and the MICH Helmets but that's all.... If you can type out what gear they have, I'll appreciate it greatly (I can't add reputation yet, I will if I can) Thanks Ivan

minnoq
Delta Force, 1993 Operation: Restore Hope Yup... this is the famous "Black Hawk Down" loadout. And although this gear list is going to be as exact to the movie as I can get it, remember that Delta pretty much have a free rein as to what gear they wish to use... As it appears in "Black Hawk Down" Head-to-toe gear list: Half-cut Protec "Skateboard" Helmet USGI Sand/Wind/Dust goggles (Note that they are not at all that safe for airsoft. Bolle Commando or G&P Goggles recommended) 3-Color Desert Combat Uniforms (DCU) Raid style with arm pockets and velcro PT Body Armor with US Flag on chest Y-Harness ALICE web belt with ALICE magazine pouches (two-pronged style from the '80s) Nomex Flight Gloves Alta Knee Pads Tan boots... Weapon of choice (Airsoft): M733 (You might want to add an aimpoint of top, camo paint job... ) and M1911A1 of some sort (Check note below photos for a note on holsters) Photos! Note that in the photos, the pistol holster is attached to the PT armor... while this might have been done, use a typical nylon drop-leg holster if you want to stay true to the movie. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

oikoik
this is what i understood from various other sources: Black protec helmet w/ nvg mount they had the old head mount for the PVS-7, over which the protec was worn - ie. it was not attached to the helmet. As it appears in "Black Hawk Down" Head-to-toe gear list: Half-cut Protec "Skateboard" Helmet USGI Sand/Wind/Dust goggles (Note that they are not at all that safe for airsoft. Bolle Commando or G&P Goggles recommended) some D Boys also sported Oakley goggles.. 3-Color Desert Combat Uniforms (DCU) Raid style with arm pockets and velcro they didnt look very RAID modded to me, in fact iirc they were standard DCU's, with buttoned arm pockets. Y-Harness all seemed to be H - harnesses to me. the Rangers had the Y harnesses. ALICE web belt with ALICE magazine pouches (two-pronged style from the '80s) this varied - depending on what chest rig [if any] any particular guy was wearing - some werent wearing any ALICE mag pouches at all [which is why i left mine off] Alta Knee Pads blackhawk knee pads Tan boots... All D boys had black boots on. Weapon of choice (Airsoft): M733 (You might want to add an aimpoint of top, camo paint job... wink.gif ) and M1911A1 of some sort M16A2 carbine would also be fine. the movie also used XM177E2's and a couple of background D Boys had M4's. i am by no means any more informed than any one else in this very worn path and oft repeated topic, but the things posted above seemed a bit glaring.. this thread might also be useful - there are many like it, on just about every single airsoft forum around.. http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/forums/inde...showtopic=20895 this was my take on it.. http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/forums/inde...c=20895&st=200# please also refer to: http://www.onesixthwarriors.com/photos/bhd...elta_team2.html http://www.onesixthwarriors.com/photos/bhd...lery/index.html

Misfit
You have a double standard. You need not tell others in where to post, how to post and not to post. You spend half of your time spamming the SNAFU boards. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't spam the SNAFU boards, I post as constructively as I can. Most of my posts are now in the Urban Assault thread, and if you want to complain, complain via PM, don't ruin a thread please. Also, Havoc gave me permission to post constructively, and it seems I have lately, as my posts haven't been deleted.
Morfoot
This is probably a stupid question but why do the delta force guys carry cable ties? I've seen several people carrying them in skirmishes and wondered if it was just for realism or if they had a useful purpose. I guess that the real deal carry them for detaining people but I'm not sure. Again sorry if it's a stupid question.
Para
Just for realism probably, they zip-tied prisoners in the films, so the airsoft guys carry them too. Althought there may be a BHD theme game at a skirmish where they might actually be used.
oikoik
we've used them on milsim games for tying up opfor nothing serious tho. if you do an impression tho, i guess its important to get some details in there, and zip cuffs are part of the look
IvanD
Yea, That's one of the things I thought about... If I DO get this loadout, I doubt if I'll be hanging zip-ties around... might be kinda annoying too... But I doubt if I'm getting this loadout.

Dentonboy
The D-Boys had AimPoints on their carbine's carry handles - obviously pre-M4 SOPMOD - what model was the sight? I assume that they 'screwed on' to the handle through the handle's hole...is there a replica out there of this sight? I really want to do a BHD load-out now, all the bits needed can be found so cheap now compared to the 'Multicam look'. Are there any places out there that sell the torches and barrel mounts? I already have - 1 M9 Beretta. I want to get a Bianchi M12 holster. 1 CCU in Desert Tri-color (a 2003 uniform, but it will be covered by the body armour if I go for this look). Although standard DCUs are cheap now. 1 ProTec lid with velcro patches. 1 pair of black army boots. 1 pair of black Bolle goggles. 1 Chest bandolier for M16 magazines. 2 x ALICE M16 magazine pouches. I am on the look-out for the remaining bits of ALICE wear on eBay. 1 pair Alta kneepads. Not albeit Blackhawk, but similar and of the same era. 1 MS-2000 strobe. I need an XM177E2/CAR-15 (as used according to Mark Bowden's account in his book) or the M733 carbine. I think I'll plump for a TM. I also need the PT armour, but that is cheap enough on eBay.
