Compare the cost of the G36 to the M16. The US doesn't care about what works, just what is the cheapest. Although in the long run, the G36 probably would be cheaper (less repairs and disposing of weapons that are completely fubar).

Fair point.

The only Marines that use the M4 is the force recon marines. The grunts all still use M16. They want to kill their target on the first shot. The M4 after 60 yards is on avg. taking 2 shots to kill a target. It's the shorter barrel. Less muzzle veloicty.

For the record the CA sl105 (AK) is awsome. Steal body and real wood.

I just held one at Airsoft Extreme. They will be out in less than 2 months, and will be close to 500 dollars.

The M4 is one of most accurate rifles out of the M16 family. Also the M4 is effective range is 400 yards. Also the US Army only uses stuff that works not the cheapest.Look at the XM8 the program was canceled due to the fact when the did they Artic trials the bodys cracked and melted. Also the G36 has its own problems to the most serious being that the reciever melts and sometimes cracks. Also the US Army doesn't want to switch to different rifles for two reasons. 1 Reason is that it would be to costly to completey replace all existing M16 and M4 rifles with a new weapon. 2 Reason the US Army has millions of M16 and M4s so there's no good reason to replace them.

Your forces use them too...

In spite of the G36-M16 controversy, you all forget something- they use the same ammunition.

As the saying goes, if you can't use an M14, you shouldn't be on the battlefield. © Pvt. Daniel H., BDAT.

Hence my next project-G&G M14 with or a custom sniper based of the APS-2.

Cheers!
