Actually, if I was trying to be malicious I would have used a less conspicuous name. However, I did not threaten a mod. In fact my account was to be re-instated as per an email between my self an Arnie on Aug 7th....

Ok Just to let you know, compaines out here will continue to make more powerful springs, If any of you have experince working on guns you will know that alot of factors play into the power of the guns and its more than just shoving a 140% spring in the gun.

Take for instance my M16A2/203, straight from the box I put a 1J spring in it and a new piston head, now it's still only producing 0.85J leaving everything else as it is I could easilly place a 120/130% spring in it and still be around the 0.96J mark thus allowing me to keep within the legal limits, Now if i was to do a complete upgrade by adding a new cylinder, tightbore barrel,Piston then i would probably be looking at an illegal gun.

Also alot of these companies are aware that the majority of thier buisness is oversea's and they have been making springs for that market of that of the Japanese market, Wh ydo i know this?

Well lets think logically, Japanese field limits are 1J for AEG's and 1.5J for Bolt action Sniper rifles, so why would any company make a 150~160% Spring for an AEG when they know it will make it A/. Illegal under the previous Japanese laws and thus making the owner liable for prosecution. B/. Making the gun way over the field limits for an AEG thus making the gun unusable on any skirmish field here in Japan.

The answer is simple, any spring over the 120% power mark is for overseas export.

tanakas site already seems to be offering replacement parts for a lot of models to detune them to remain on spec for this new test?

Tanaka have a website? Got a link?

Cheers.

PS If the velocity IS to be tested at 35C, how can this be done when they visit your home? It's not usually that warm in a Japanese home is it? Equally, I would agree that a number of Marushin NBBs would exceed 325 fps on 134a at 35C.

linky here - http://www.tanaka-works.com/index.html

not sure myslef how they'd test in situ (small portable gun warming device? lol) If they were to go to that extreme then possibly just feed them from an external source and ensure the pressure being fed into the guns is equivalent to that of 134a at 35 degrees? (eg from a regulated supply of high pressure air etc).

The raid was triggered by the fact that most crimes in Japan are comitted w/ this partic. manufacturer, what does it have to do w/ power??? If you rob a bank, are you going to be concerned on how realistic the gun looks, or how powerful it is?

It doesn't make sense.

The lawmakers in England and now also in diff. parts of u.s. are more concerned about the detail of our replicas, than about someone getting hurt by them.

-This raid was bogus!!!! :P

No, but if they can use it as a justification to get at the company, what difference does it make?
