Dj_komodo
Time to wake up this old topic. Last we heard something was in 2014, now 2 years later they're finally in production and will be released in a few weeks. From their FB page: [NEW]The Double M4 GBBR magazine has gone into production! Keep an eye on this photo album for updates, or email us for more info here: http://www.weairsoft.com/contacts [2014-08-08]Here's a sneak peak at the brand new WE M4 Double Magazine. This is an early production preview, the final product will be available in both Black and FDE. This magazine comes complete with realistic metal dummy cartridges that can be removed just like the real thing. The magazine holds 70 rounds and can store a far larger quantity of gas than our standard M4 magazines due to it's unique internals. Compatible with the following models: WE MSK SeriesWE M4 Series888 SeriesM16 SeriesSCAR SeriesT91 SeriesPDW SeriesRaptor SeriesL85 Series
hitmanNo2
I'm sure some people will buy it but it seems utterly pointless to me. For the sake of an extra 10 rounds over 2 regular mags in a clamp...Not to mention extra bulk when not in a gun. Better off with one of those DIY hi cap mods.
Number5
The box says 80rds, the fluff text says 70. Which is it? If it's 80, although only 10 more than 70 rds, I'd be more interested. Plus with 80 rds then wipping out the mag Spring guide you could squeeze an extra 5~ rds it works out pretty good at 85~rds. If it's 70...
Dj_komodo
I will certainly buy one just for the testing. Could it be lighter than 2 mags clamped together? Does it hold more gas than 2 mags together? Does it cost more than 2 we mags? Nice detail with the removable cartridges.
blobface
I love the fact that instead of fake bullets, they just give you a follower to put whatever you want in it..
Brigg
I would think that regardless of the info posted with it, if the box says 80 rounds, it's probably that. Seems less likely that a typo would slip by on the actual product then it could on a Facebook post
renegadecow
Actually they now hold 80 as opposed to the original 70. I made that criticism years ago on their FB and it's nice they listened. BUT DO THEY LISTEN AND MAKE ME NEW HI POWER? NO!
3vi1-D4n
Where is the Beta C mag? Much easier and I would be down for that in a second
kullwarrior
Where is the Beta C mag? Much easier and I would be down for that in a second They could probably have gone with refillable CO2 by that setup.
Safeword
Even doh it's not on the list, I guess this will fit my PLR-16?
renegadecow
Measure the right side thickness of the magwell if it's any thicker than an ARs.
Safeword
Someone already asked WE and they said "yes, however you'll need to change the rubber gas route on the mags to the one that is compatible with the PLR-16 rifles. You can purchase these from WE parts distributors" And the 70 vs 80 rounds question, they said the 70 round was their prototype and its 80 now
renegadecow
Wait, don't their PLRs take plain old STANAGs?
Katotaka
Yes and no, the rubber route thing is different shaped.
renegadecow
That is so weird considering they could have just as easily made the nozzle to accommodate AR mags.
Wooly_Booly
That is so weird considering they could have just as easily made the nozzle to accommodate AR mags. No clue. Possibly from request by Socom Gear? The gas routes are flat, which isn't too different from the standard routes.
Katotaka
IIRC you can force one magazine into the other's host gun and still work, but not vice versa, can't remember which.
MrKingTaco1776
I don't know how I feel about this one. It seems like an innovative idea, but also a pain in the a$$. If I want to put bullets in a magazine, I'll just go and shoot my AR15.
