Gasmlt
Hello, Tried to search around and obtain some info on what Glock G17 to get! In Malta I am sure I can find both KJ Works and TM. If you have to buy one which one to get and why? How realiable are they? Is it true that TM is slightly larger than an Original firearm G17 and wont fit a FOBUS holster or a Black hawk holster? Thanks Pierre
ollie_ty
IBTL. This is the wrong section, try the general or Newb section
Mr.Hyde
Yes the TM wont fit form fitting holsters. KSC/KWA will. I still think the TM is the best G17 out there, I have used the KWA and TM. It will last forever and it made very well. KWA is good, but the TM is just so much better IMO. If I was to buy a KWA, I would get a G18C as TM dont make a GBB one.
greg
If I could only buy one & it was for skirmishing, I'd get the tm. It's more accurate & more reliable I have 7 glocks including both metal & plastic slide kfc 18's. When up graded, the kwa/ksc/kfc/etc's feel & sound great. You can also see pretty high fps. The std out of the box tm may have less power & feel plasticy but it's more accurate & has few (if any) reliability issues. I bought all the others before the tm was available & spent a small fortune on tuning, in an attempt to get the best out of them. I skeptically tried a friends tm when they first came out & was gutted to find that it out performed all the glocks I had so lovingly spent so much time & money on! So now I have a tm & the others don't get used. & yes, you are right, the tm is a little fatter. A cqc holster needs a little bit of dremmeling. Greg.
msx361
I have 7 glocks including both metal & plastic slide kfc 18's I didnt realise the Kernel was making glocks now, i guess Ronald will be following suit soon then Does the guarder g17 frame fit tm? If so will it then fit a serpa?

If so will it then fit a serpa? Sadly, Mr Sanders don't make glocks. I always call the kwa/ksc/hfc/etc,etc generic family kfc. Firstly to save time listing all the variants & secondly for a cheap laugh. No idea about the guarder frame. Greg
cazboab
That would work fine except KSC/KWA and HFC glocks are completely different guns. HFC's being reverse engineered from the older TM glock 26(not the newer 17).

HFC's being reverse engineered from the older TM glock 26(not the newer 17). You're not wrong. But,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,it's just too tempting to include it on the list because you only have to swap the 'H' with a 'K'. Greg.
BigAl
Does the guarder g17 frame fit tm? If so will it then fit a serpa? It the slide that stops them fitting, the frame is irrelavent. However if you buy a holster intended for a Glock 21 (.45acp) it should then fit as the .45 is slightly larger than the 9mm/.40S&W.
Wingman
I have the new TM G17 and it's very good. I also have the HFC G17 and it's also a very good pistol (magazines load gas better than the TM's). The HFC has proven to be a very durable GBB for me during the last two years. I dont trust the KSC/KWA Glocks anymore as I've had too many durability issues with them. I find the CYMA G18c AEP to be the most dependable Glock pistol I own. Whne the gas guns are quiting, my AEP's just keep on going (one of mine has over 14,000 shots thru it without a single malfunction). It does have speed restrictions (220fps), but range and accuract are excellent as is getting 1000+ shots out of a charged battery.
Reborn
The TM G17 is a fraction wider than the real thing. It won't fit properly inside a molded holster for the G17. However, it will fit inside one meant for the G21. Hands down, TM makes the best G17 replica on the market right now. I own one that is internally stock and I can hit a tissue box-sized target at 45 feet range every time. TM HOP-up > all others Pictures of my custom G17.

Gasmlt
Very nice gun. So next question, what holsters do you use for the G17! Hello, I checked in the manual of the G17 (real), the width of the g17 slide is 30mm and that of the G21 32.5mm. Can anyone measure the width of a TM G17 and if possible the height from front, slide+frame! Thanks Pierre
FearBefore
I used to have a KWA glock 18c, very fun gun, my first full auto gas blowback, the KWAs are very nice, though nothing beats a TM gas blowback, well besides WA but thats a different story lol
Reborn
I use a Guarder Tornado drop-thigh holster. It can be adjusted to fit everything up to a Mark 23 with LAM.
cazboab
The guarder tornado or the cheaper knockoffs don't quite fit a Mk23 with the LAM on, unless you have something smaller than the one marui give you like an ITI LAM(rare as unicorn poop), but they do hold Glock 17/18s with prolight/M3 sized units quite nicely. FireKnife
TM Glock 17, get it. I for one cant stand KJ/KWA/KSC Glocks as i have had too many reliability problems particularly with 134a. As for the HFC havent tried it yet. Any adjustable holster will happily take any Glock 17 model as the size of the 17 seems to be just right for all the adjustables i have. Pistol_Dude
What about the cheapo 'Meister' Glock from RSOV? It certainly looks the part and it only costs 37 quid.
galactica
I can't resist a post in a Glocky thread...I've got a 23f (i know, not a "real gun") which I love dearly and is ultra-reliable and just awesome (don't know what make it is, bought second hand)...I would really love a metal slide for it. Can I get one?

Can I get one? I've got one of those too & you're right, it feels loverly. If it's a kwa/ksc, then you should be able to find a metal slide/barrel for it. I did, but haven't looked for one recently. Be aware that this will slow down the cycle rate, so, to keep it frightening you will be looking at changing the recoil spring & guide, hammer spring, flow valve & preferably mag valves too. This will give you about 325 on green & a fast cycling, loverly crisp feeling, solid pistol. Cost could be as little as,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,£120. Yes, way more than you payed for the gun. It's also way more than a brand new 285fps TM. Which although no where near as powerful, scary, or 'realistic',,,,,,,,,, will give 6" groups at 25m!!!! Not only that, but with the right ammo, you can hit a man sized target at 45m!! On full auto, with a 49 rnd mag, your (well my) tricked out 23 sounds scary, but would be lucky to hit a barn door at 10m!!! Greg.
galactica
oh i'd definitely break it doing all those changes...unless I can find a titanium one or something, perhaps I should just keep it plastic & scary (until the slide breaks, of course - I use propane all the time). Cheers Greg!
Sale
I have a BlackHawk Industries SERPA holster made for the Glock 17/22 (regular size). How I got my TM G17 to fit in there was like this: The new PGC slides are reduced in size, and with those the TM G17 fits a SERPA directly. -Sale

So it's not a matter of slide width but fron weight height!
greg
Funny, 'cos I tried that & it made no difference. Then I sanded down the sides of the serpa & viola: perfect fit. That's life. Greg.
