Sledge
Howdy do, folks! I'm about to aquire this Cybergun XM177 from McMadKat: Now, as you can guess from the title, I'm considering cutting it down into a Patriot for CQB work. Which raises three questions: 1) Do you think it's a good idea? (If so , why, if not, why not) 2) Any suggestions for the gun? 3) Have you got any pictures of a Patriot? A quick Google search could only find these: The big picture is a TM gun cut down too much in my opinon. I think it would be something more like the small pictures. So, whaddya think? McMadkat
hmmm might work, but you might have problems holding the barrel in, you will see what I mean when you take the front to bits! PM me if you are having trouble disassembling it, I took it to little pieces and know how it all fits together. Hint: start at the front, then the stock, then the body. Like this you mean: McM

Sledge
McMadcat: Looks pretty good, how much of that has actually been removed and how much Photoshopped out? There seems to be some blurring where the carry handle was, so it looks a little like you;ve painted over it. Doc: That's the bugger! Very nice. If I'm going to have an Armalite, it'll at least be something different from all the ones that normally turn up.
outlaw
That 'pistol' is the only armalite id ever consider man that is cool!
matt bond
I have a patriot, based on a Calssic army M15A4 with the PDI patriot kit, after using mine a couple of times now i'd say go for it, and chop your rifle down. The only real problem with the patriot design is that there is limited space for batteries, i run a 9.6v 1100mah battery in the stock tube of the PDI kit at present or you can go the ready mag route like doc did in his piccy. Ether way they are fun, easy to carry and look cool...

Sledge
Excellent! I wanted to use a cheap gun to start with, just to see if I like the gun. If it works out well, I might get a better base gun to start with. Oh, and I'm with you on that, Outlaw. If I'm going to have an Armalite, it's going to be a good one. ^cRYpTic^
This is another Cybergun spring rifle that I think would provide a better base gun. It costs roughly the same as the other one. http://www.airsoftatlanta.com/images/kitty_kat_jpg.jpg Should be a fun project.
Sledge
Um, I'm not using a springer, this is an AEG. So I'll stick to this one, if it's all the same.
Green
think the internals of the aeg one would fit in the kitty kat?
Sledge
I neither know nor care, to be honest. This gun's setting me back £30, I don't really want to spend any more than that. Apart from £30 on a box of Star lo-caps once it's finished.
^cRYpTic^
Sorry Sledge, thought that was a springer. Its hard to tell one piece of Cybergun sh*t from another.
Sledge
By the time I'm done with it, it'll be something amazing.
^cRYpTic^
I'm sure the gun will. However, Cybergun the company will not.
Sledge
Oh good god, no. They'll still be over-charging gits. But the gun... mwhaa haa haa haa! I think something like Doc Newstead posted will be the overall theme, but maybe with a few Sledge twists. And of course, you're all welcome to suggest anything that might look good. HaVoC
but maybe with a few Sledge twists <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Oh good lord, I can't even begin to imagine what that might entail...

Fall_Ryan
Keep the Gas Tube- Remember that real AR-15's need that tube in order to function. You should make a foregrip outta PVC Pipe, Rubber Coat it too. (Inferno *AKA God* uses Duplicolor Bedliner Paint, I dont know if you can get that stuff in the UK)

Sledge
Nice Simpsons quotage there, and good sig as well. Don't suppose anyone else has got any more Patriot pics? And yes, I am planning to keep the gas tube at the back. I want this to be a weapon that could work in real steel, but still be unusual, if not unique.

Only problem for you is if you do make it, it might not be that unique, because I'm about to start making my own, it'd still be a pretty cool gun to own though . I just need some pictures of the gun for reference. If anyone could help me out with regards to the pics that would be good
