Ledpocket
I'm going to post the pics of the steps I used to create the various customizations I did to my airsoft. Unfortunately I didn't take pics of every step, and the ones I did take are kind of scattered on my hard drive, but I'll do my best for you. First off, shortened slide on the USP: Basicly, I chopped the front off in a jigsaw shape, and glued it back on. Used some tiny screws to pin it, so it would come apart when firing. A little epoxy, body filler, and paint to finish it off. more to come...
Lance Jackass
Nice one. I like reading guides and how-tos most. So if you have any guides on customisations you did to any rifles smgs it would be great if you could post them. cheers

Lance Jackass
ive seen a lot of these on airsoft retreat but if you could put up the box mag and g3sas that would be awsome! cheers
Ledpocket
Lance, I'll try to get those up tonight. on the slide construction, I pinned it so it *wouldn't* come apart. lol.
Ledpocket
here's all the pics of the box mag that I could find. I could have sworn I had more. v2 is the x-mas tin. uses the internals from v1. pretty much a std design. hicap with holes cut in the sides. a servo to wind the mag, 9v powered. v1 had rc car batteries & a 9v. dual switches, and could power the m4. I'll try to get some more up tomorrow (G3 SD)
Kukailimoku
This is just useless commentary but... You should play a game with that unpainted and tell us the remarks you get.

Lance Jackass
cool- and much cheaper than the rip off box mags you can buy! Do they feed fine?
Ledpocket
Antagon, nothing yet. I'll email you when they come in. Lance, the mag feeds fine, just like a std hicap would. OK, so here's the pics of the G3 SAS to G3 SD conversion. It was pretty straight forward, with a couple exceptions. 1) the SAS has a funky front end piece (Holds the inner barrel). It is a lot bigger than a std g3 part. Luckily I had some g3 parts lying around. 2) the SD is for MP5's, so it needs a litlle modding. The tube for the cocking handle has a couple of tabs on the inner diameter that need to be ground off. The part that holds the battery needs some grinding to fit. The cocking tube needs a couple holes drilled in it, and a bit of material removed to fit right. see the pics for the shiny spots. Hopefully you get the idea of what to do from the pics

Magsz
How exactly does that box mag feed? Do you just throw bb's into the inner plastic reservoir? If so due to gravity, how do the bb's get up to the proper height so that they can get inside of the m16 mag?
Ledpocket
How exactly does that box mag feed? Do you just throw bb's into the inner plastic reservoir? If so due to gravity, how do the bb's get up to the proper height so that they can get inside of the m16 mag? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> On the box mag, here's how it works: -cut some holes in the hicap shell just above the clockwork mechanism. -build a shelf that is even with those holes. -bb's sit on the shelf and gravity takes them into the hicap and then down into the workings. so if you look at the x-mas tim mag, bb's go in the top 1/3 of it (above the plastic shelf) only things in the bottom are the motor and battery and the bottom section of the hicap. I hope that explains it ok.

Ledpocket
I finally found the 2 pics I took of the ver1 boxmag. They show it complete, but unpainted, so you can hopefully get a sense of how I made it.

SgtBojangles
He has a picture of what he didnt, but I guess he did post it. He used wood that he carved/cut/sanded/whatevered to look like it does now... I think it was wood.
Ledpocket
The feedport was made of plastic. I'll try to post up the rest of the shrike pics tomorrow sometime.

PlasticMag
Probably the only reliably working SHRIKE in the world... Counting ARES'... I like it, though, and I usually don't go for Armalites. At all.
Ledpocket
Thanks for the comments. As promised, but a little late, here are some more details of the belt feed stuff. As you can see it is just a plate that clamps on as a part of the carry handle, which was chopped, a piece of plexi added, and a g36 side rail added to the top to put the red dot in line with the iron sights. The front bolt from the carry handle mount was remove and replace with a normal screw that threads into the plastic feed lips. The back mount thumb nut was replaced with a piece to make it look like the charging handle. The lips themselves are made out of renshape, which is like butter board. It is a cast plastic used in model making/pattern making. Pics in no particular order:
