  1. Ran mine exclusively today. Put about 2k rounds through it and had no issues with it not firing in semi auto as others have point led out. Got about 1500 or so rounds from the first 1300mah 7.4v lipo I used and it still had some fight left in it before I changed it out. Had a few double feeding issues with my newer p mags but when I started using my older pmags with slightly weaker springs I didn't have any. So I put those double feeds down to the mags than the rifle. Came out on the site chrono at 347FPS so just within my sites limits.
  2. I don't see how some of those things are faults of the PDR. To run an 11.1v Lipo, you should be fitting a mosfet to any rifle as a matter of good course. You don't need an 11.1v Lipo with this thing, nor do you need one with anything else. It might need a new motor perhaps, but its liveable without one, and the single only block isn't a fault of the gun either, as it was always advertised as never having a fire selector. This gun definitely does have faults and issues, but I fail to see how anything you've pointed out, bar the motor, is really the PDR's fault that it doesn't match you're p
  3. Indeed it's lacking in those aspects and that's something that should be rectified, but none of his reviews have focused on internals in terms of stripping it down and going through the gearbox. At least it provides a bit of info on rate of fire and accuracy, which we haven't had a lot of so far.
  4. Video review from EpicAirsoftHD for what its worth:
  5. Indeed it would be rather helpful of PTS (and any other company really) to say that they noticed an issue with X, Y or Z and that it was rectified and offer the affected users some kind of solution. Especially as it seems to be HK users bringing up the issues and PTS is a HK company. I think unfortunately PTS seems to be hitting the stage that companies like Classic Army did years ago where the first patch can be hit or miss, and then they get better after that. It's a shame that any company still feels the need to go through that in this day and age but seems to be what's happening.
  6. No idea if PTS have some kind of different approach to regions or whether it is indeed just differences in batches as it sounds like HK PDRs are not doing all that well (one would assume also the first run off the production line too), and ones purchased from UK retailers are doing ok (assuming later batches again), so maybe there is a difference in the quality checking that goes out internationally than for the local HK market. Would be interesting to see what, if any, issues US owners encounter (bought from US retailers, and not imported), but I know PTS had some distribution issues in
  7. I think the point was more being made at the 'I've never seen a new gun get so much leniency', not the factual posts made by genuine owners. Not been able to get out and skirmish mine yet but it's felt fine from just casually shooting it, haven't noticed any of the trigger issues. The serial number on mine is in the 330s.
  8. Well there's no weight at all in the front, only thing weighing anything is the flash hider and the battery, neither of which weight much at all, the centre of gravity is around the front of the magwell. I know everyone keeps mentioning the size of the grip, but doesn't really give any indication of what size their hand is, other than 'normal sized' or large. As a guide, I use Large Oakley SIs and large Mechanix M-Pacts, and my little finger is clear of the bottom of the pistol grip in a comfortable hold.
  9. Got mine this evening and I'm rather happy with the build quality thus far, just need to swap out those pesky tamiyas for some deans, and I'll be away. Got myself some nice 7.4 1300mah lipos that fit perfectly in the grip (this: http://www.component-shop.co.uk/html/vp25c2s1300as.html ). Also found a decent solution to the sling mounting, I had an old M16 3 point sling lying around (the one suitable for the solid stock that wraps around the stock) and it works like a charm, nicely holds to the side without trying to flip itself over. Just need to get it out into the field now. According to
  10. Given a lot aren't secured by anything other than being tightened up, and maybe some locktite if its been put on, they can work themselves loose quite easily, even more so if you swap configs from suppressor to flash hider regularly and maybe forget to re-locktite the buggers.
  11. Because for the sake of a couple of grams, it adds next to no weight, but could come in real handy on a milsim event or a long afternoon where you don't want to return to the safezone due to a shattered lens (it gets shot, or you fall and the sight takes the brunt of the damage), or dead batteries in the middle of a fire fight where you can't/don't want to put yourself out of action. That's the point of the back up, presuming a normal circumstance, no they wouldn't be needed, but accidents can and do frequently happen. Not to mention some people just like the look, gives the rifle appearan
  12. Did you mod the pants yourself or did you get them from a retailer? Been looking around for that type of integrated kneepad in ATACS FG but I can't find the same style as you've got. Or if you did it yourself, if theres a guide you used etc, then a link would be much appreciated.
  13. Would say so, myself and 3 others from my site have ordered from there without much problem. Was a little delay due to Propper not producing enough to meet demand it would seem but was fine aside from that.
  14. It tones down very quickly, only put mine through two washes and its already a lot duller than your pictures show it to be. Really suits the site I play at, hopefully will have a few in game pictures once our photographer sticks em up.
  15. Don't suppose it would be possible to get a parts list on this one? Possibly one of the best looking rifles I've seen in a while. Assuming its a GBBR, which might be enough to tempt me into that area of airsoft.
  16. Personally I dropped a Madbull Shark Blue into mine and it shoots perfectly. Was pretty concerned when I got it a few weeks back when firing it for the first time that it was double/tripple feeding, then I binned the stock, brittle rubbish that it came with, dropped the Madbull Blue in, and not had a single double feed and BB's fly dead straight for as long as would be expected. Definitely recommend one.
  17. So having read the first 25 or so pages, and the last 25 pages to get a feeling for the starting life of this replica, and whats been improved, at UK FPS levels, rocking a 7.2lipo, I have seen alot of talk about upgrading this and that, using Aug cylinder heads etc, but how does this function out of the box at this kind of usage level? Are the cylinder head upgrades required or only for US levels of performance? Quite interested in purchasing one of these in time for the Ground Zero Weekender so would be quite nice not to have to mess with it a lot before then. Thanks
  18. Took long enough to get the pictures from a team mate, but here's the 5 man team from the Isle of Man that went to Ground Zero, and of course the .50 cal. Left To right: Ben (Not on here), Myself(Kneeling), Alpha2, Maddog and RobbyC.
  19. Perhaps what they meant to say was that they are waiting on VFC to start a new run of the L, as I read somewhere that VFC haulted production of the Light in order to make adeqaute numbers of the H in time for release. Though its entirely possibly VFC are changing something and will be making a new gen of SCAR-L's.
  20. Finally got my hands on mine, gotta say its all very shiny, however theres a few little things I've noticed. Firstly I found that when the stock is folded, it doesn't hook onto the bit on the main body of the gun very well, it's not so bad that the stock just swings back, but it takes very little force to move it back, unlike other folders, especially the G36 lines. Also can anyone take some pictures of how they fit a 8.4v battery and the wiring, as whenever I've tried doing it, its ended up in me only being able to have the stock at is fullest extension, and also when trying to get
  21. You couldn't have possibly framed that picture any better, right there is the two extremes of airsoft geardoism. Nice loadout though Cephas
  22. Well it only fires 40mm Moscart style shells, so it'll be no different than them, which in general are quite a let down themselves, so its only saving is the enjoyment of being able to cycle through 6 of them rather quickly. I've experienced the business end of that thing (was in the 'kill house' at the first Distant Thunder) and its quite intimidating, even though all 6 shells missed me completely.
  23. Running 1680x1050 Are you running Vista Ultimate then Xaccers, as I want those Dreamscene backgrounds but it seems they are only available to Vista Ultimate users which kinda blows.
  24. I noticed that you mentioned that the new patriot kits that Madbull are producing fit onto an ICS M4, and I was wondering whether you knew if the Talon kit can also fit onto an ICS M4 or not?
  25. From the looks of it, it is this one: http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper.php?i...-L01_cat_Lasers Also if you like that one, then theres also a model thats got a rail on top of it and also it has a white LED light in it:http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper.php?itm=STAR-LS-L02_cat_Lasers
