  1. Are you sure your inner barrel is installed correctly? My VFC SR-635, which is shooting .20g BBs at 340 FPS can reach a verified 180 feet with .25s through the 7" barrel that it has. -Piano
  2. The ICOM F4 comes in several different UHF bands. I believe you want the F4S-4, which is the 450-470MHZ band model. -Piano
  3. Just make sure you have the right band in the UHF spectrum. You shouldn't be transmitting at 5W without a license, but that's a different discussion. -Piano
  4. The plate should sit between your sternum notch (with the top no more than 1 inch below it) and your navel so you appear to be wearing it low. It appears to be the correct width though. -Piano
  5. I think you're on to something, Kojak. I can't wait to see this done. -Piano
  6. I would look at an ICOM 4088A (http://www.icomamerica.com/en/products/landmobile/portables/4088a/default.aspx) While it's not quite the size of the larger F4 series or a MBITR, it is a FRS/GMRS radio though a better quality than most. -Piano
  7. Thank for the help, Noveske. I'll probably go the GS route unless Larue releases a VFZ-version of their LT752 mount. -Piano
  8. No worries. I had the hardest time finding a 7.62 flashhider, but decided to stick with the TTB instead of the AAC mk17 flashhider in earlier photos. - Piano
  9. Thanks! The choice of magazines was the hardest decision I had to make. I've been looking for Real Sword midcaps stateside, but having failed to found them, just went with the 5.56 mags as they're compatible with the same pouches as my EMAGs. I'll look into modifying a USPalm mag though. I'll spend some time in the future squaring away a light mount, optics, and a grip of some sort, but I think I'm done with working on her for the time being. -Piano
  10. SR635 is just in there for balance. -Piano
  11. Hurricane/Polarstar KAC SR47 w/ URX III, PTS UBR, & PTS MIAD VFC KAC SR635 w/ Madbull Noveske AOR1 fabric was supposed to arrive today, but since the post office can't deliver, you're all stuck with AOR2. -Piano
  12. @WhiteHawksan- How about RS parts such as stock, grip, hand guards, and rails? I don't mind them as certain RS items aren't available in the airsoft market, but I'm sure some do. -Piano
  13. slu- I self-installed the URX using a wrench that USCM provided and G&P's rail alignment tool. The former seems to be based on the KAC design and was made by somebody else, and the latter is just a rail to receiver clamp. -Piano
  14. Looks good, Mr. Foxhound. I approve of your rail choice. -Piano
  15. Thanks for the pictures, Noveske. If you can take a muzzle shot so I can see how close to the rail the lights sit? -Piano
  16. Thanks. It's the second URX rail I've owned and my favorite (I owned the G&P SR-25 URX and in terms of weight and comfort, the URX III is superior). The KAC flash hider looks perfect on it and I'll be selling my AAC MK17 flash hider. I ought to give a shout out to USCMCorps for letting me borrow his tools for this. -Piano
  17. Noveske- How do you like the interface of the Larue LT752's with the URX 3? I'm looking to mount my Scout light and was debating a the LT752 or Gear Sector's mount. Current state of the SR47. -Piano
  18. Debating whether or not to remove some material from the rear of the UBRIII to eliminate the gap between the rail and the SR47's upper receiver.

It's pretty much a toss up. A discontinued $500 conversion kit vs $300 rail that's currently in production. The other option is just to live with the gap, which has only an aesthetic impact.

If memory serves correct, when I installed a URX II on an AEG a few years back, the only part that needed modification for flush fit was the barrel nut (you had to turn it down a few hundredths)?

To add, I'd definitely mod the rail, not the SR47 kit. That kit is definitely worth more than a URX3.

  19. Just to clear things up, the 2nd DYTAC TRX installed flawlessly and did not have any of the problems the first one had. I've received questions from several different forum members, which has lead me to believe that I was unclear in my original posting. Thanks, -Piano
  20. Yes I did. It's sewn out of some cheap 100% cotton twill but not properly dyed. -Piano

  22. Thanks Snigel. I've picked up a VFC AKMS with a wonky stock latch (previous owner lost the locking pins) and was worried that the mags wouldn't play nicely. Just need to figure out how to address the missing parts or figure out a way to use a LCT AIMS receiver as I prefer that stock. -Piano
  23. Has anybody here been running Real Sword midcaps in other brand AKs? I'm looking to get some and want to make sure they'll work with minimal or no modification. I've read about the issues that other brand magazines have in the RS guns, but not the other way around. -Piano

Very nice, SPRs have always been my favorite M4/M16 variant. -Piano
