  1. Made a limited run of 190 back in 2007. This is a bit of a collectors item, so I'm not going to paint it. I was thinking BHD myself, though.
  2. Tactical casual at a pickup game yesterday. I'm having a few issues with the camelbak sagging on the JPC when filled with water, but its nothing I can fix with a few zip ties.
  3. I think you may have received a bit of a lemon. Between my personal VFC M4, a teammates' VFC M4, and a 3rd and 4th that I handled at a game today, not a single one had the issue with resetting the hopup *or* the remarkably short range that you were achieving. Each of them was getting a much more respectable 175ish feet of effective range. My personal M4 went for 2 years without a single internal failure while being run on an 11.1v 20c lipo at 27 RPS, and chrono'd out of the box at 390 FPS +/- 5. That having been said, thanks for the well-written review.
  4. My CB James JPC has the pull tabs on the plate pockets, but they're folded up inside the pouch instead of hanging out (from the factory, anyway). It wouldn't surprise me if yours is like that aswell; it's hard to notice unless you're looking for it.
  5. Is that natural wear on the body, or did you do that manually? If so, what method did you use?
  6. Just use a separate image host. I personally love the combo of Picasa's desktop client + web hosting. I have complete control over the image sharing, easy batch uploading, and the ability to do quick touchups in seconds.
  7. Thanks for the heads up. In the interest of the female half of this household, wouldn't that smell rather atrocious?
  8. From this: To this: I'm going strip the entire gun to bare metal and repaint it with a relatively weak black paint; the end goal is a very weathered AK74M.
  9. Cordura "laptop" pouch for my Wouxun radio. Folds away from the body when you release the velcro side flaps; the shock cord on the buckle allows you to manipulate the dials on top of the radio easily. On the side, chemlight holders. Why? Because.
  10. That would look smexy with a slant brake. I got a milsurp slant brake for something like $2 back when I ordered my wood kits.
  11. Ah... so what you're saying is it's more comfortable for you, based on your head shape and the shape of the helmet?
  12. More comfy, you say? Could you elaborate?
  13. Frankly I'm more interested in your heat shield.
  14. It was $50 for an AGM VSR clone, spare bolt, half a gearbox's internals, half of a P90's externals (upper and a rail kit), the AK, a drop leg rig, battery, charger, and 3 mags. Seemed like a sure thing. I am leaning towards the classic externals, except for repainting it. The internals seem pretty solid, even though it is a DBoys.
  15. Just bought this fully functional DBoys AK74 with a Prommy tightbore and some red hopup chamber for $5. What to do, what to do...
  16. That's a pretty cool lid, guy.
  17. Mega, this would be the ideal PC for someone as lilliputian as yourself. You can make the cummerbund smaller by rethreading the shock cord on the back, and then just cinch it down with the velcro up front. I have a 31" waist, and have no trouble. I'm sure it could fit somebody like you with a few minutes of adjustment.
  18. G20/21 holsters always seem to fit airsoft (well TM spec anyway) G17s as if they were meant to be used together. I've only tried that once myself (G17 + G21 Safariland), but I've read about it being the case many times.
  19. Thanks! So far I've spent more time talking to other players about it in the parking lot than I've actually spent shooting it. As far as AKs go, I wouldn't be too worried. I'm selling off most of my M4s/M16s/Mwhatevers (and that's a lot of guns!) and switching over to AK variants. I told myself I would just get one (last month), now I have 3.
  20. All I did was chop the bolt spring about 1/4" at a time until the bolt would travel as far as I wanted it to. A downside to this is the shorter spring has less tension, meaning the dust cover can pop open more easily and the bolt has a little more play. I largely fixed this problem by stretching the spring out to nearly twice its normal length, but that's only a temporary solution. Cutting the tab is not the solution. If you remove the spring, you'll notice the bolt will travel all the way back in the first place (how else would you be able to install it?). The bolt stops when the spring i
  21. No real advantage on an AEG, it simply means I can pull the bolt back far enough to add a proper bolt catch.
  22. Still need to do a little fitment work on the front sight (hence no muzzle brake right now), but aside from that she's done. Added a bolt lock and full travel bolt to the DBoys AK74U.
