The more I find out about how the major websites work the more it becomes apparent how hard it is to get anything at all taken down.  YouTube and Facebook (as the most obvious examples) are absolutely infested, nay riddled, with content that blatantly invokes hate and violence and are used in a million and 1 other morally deplorable ways.  Twitter and the like are all filled with accounts used by terrorist organisations to communicate and harvest information (although that's actually useful to us sometimes) but it's rare these accounts are deleted and there's a bewilderingly long process involved in getting that done.  Google employs a lot of people to literally just sit and watch all the beheadings/child pornography/torture videos that get uploaded to YouTube because it's not like there's a piece of software that can identify and filter the actual audio/visual content that gets uploaded.

Problem being it's only truly horrendous stuff like that which they really care about because it very clearly contravenes their sites' rules.  A lot of other footage depicting actions that are clearly illegal and potentially damaging to all sorts of people stays up, purely because it doesn't break the rules of the website.
