Thanks.  I knew I had seen it somewhere, in a book perhaps.  It's rather jarring in RL.

I find it very handy for confined spaces or popping around corners in very close quarters. It's also very good for police officers who need to be able to get people away from them and stop them from grabbing their pistols.

I might have to give it a try.  I forget who teaches it but there's a single handed technique keeping the pistol close up to your chest, with your support hand in a kind of low surrender ready to bat/grab arms coming around a corner that has always stuck with me when going around corners.
