PlasticMag
True. But like I said, if I can build it cheaper, I will. Besides, can't you buy AKSU stocks and furniture in the UK? That and a hacksaw and you're getting close to an AKS74U...
kronic
I could get a custom Trapper industries AKSU built, using a stamped yunkers receiver, and a folding AKSU stock (using ah chinese stock hinge) for £695. Thats including internals.
Catchv22
He can't get a steel receiver though. Guarder is his only real choice.
michael_collins
Kronic has an AK fetish, just like most of you have an Armalite/POS fetish of some sort... It's not his fault that he had a proper upbringing and can see the greatness that is the Kalashnikov assault rifle <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Quoted for truth.
kronic
Hurry up guarder. Transfered my money into my mums account, so i'm all ready to order. Damn you Guarder, i have £2.28 in my bank now :/

aimpoint
lol, cool i dont really like the wood grips on the ak74,much prefere the sinthetic black ones on the M variants, let me know when you get it id be very intrested to see how it turns out
kronic
Not worries in that. I apologise in advance, i'm guessing that i'll be a big headed pillock, and pics will be everywhere..... mind you i have ben saving for tiiiime. The real AKS74 is sweet, but there's something about the guarder one, the forgrips are too angular.
aimpoint
very good *everyone stands braced to beat kronic round the head for the constant spam bout his new ak * nah you deserve it if you hav saved up all that money for it, i want to see plenty off pics yea the grips look a bit larger to me but thats just in my humble opinion
PlasticMag
He can't get a steel receiver though. Guarder is his only real choice. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Right, but technically you need an FFL stateside for that anyways, don't you?
Schlangsky
http://www.renegaderecon.com/images/articl...rderaksu_rr.jpg Tell me thats not worth $700 Thats the Guarder AKSU... i mean look at the packaging for a start. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Damn that's a good looking AKS74U I know what i'll be saving for, ... the next few months That pistolgrip is just gorgeous ... compared to the previous AKM ones! About those guarder AKS74 wood grips being to square ... AMEN !! I'm buiding an AKS74-N: modified trapper sidefolder, modified Ak47 magnesium reciever, AKM/74-realsteel grips & my AK 103 kit (and some more bits & pieces)
kronic
Why not use a Yunkers/Junkers receiver? E-mail tarpper for a quote on one, based on the Yunkers receiver (their "home made" receiver is ok, but not a scratch on the yunkers... how ever it does allow 9.6 1700 stick batteries) Can't do any harm in asking for a quote. destrukto
kronic's spam will certainly be much, much better than the constant torrent of Armalite spam that has flooded the entire airsoft community I'm looking forward to reading kronic's review, should be quite good I personally would've opted for an AKM kit... but that's just me Although I do like the AKS74U.. Spam on kronic!!
kronic
I've already got an AKM. (want pics? ) It's the Guarder 2003 kit though. Still sweet.

But @ that time they said it would be cheaper to buy an entirely converted AK Anyway i'm way to far into this project, to change the receiver ... So i'll just stick to this modified G&G Ak47 magnesium reciever, with modified trapper sidefolder backplate mounted. Nice to know Trapper are selling stamped receivers though, ... PlasticMag
Does anyone have on of these stamped receivers? How easy is it to fit AEG parts inside? Finally, does a Marui stock fit it?
PlasticMag
And what are you using to fill in the metal, Schlangsky?
Schlangsky
And what are you using to fill in the metal, Schlangsky? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> To fill-up the indents i've used "HOLTS" Mastic polyester. (stuff one uses to repair dents/holes in cars)
kronic
To convert the Yunkers receivers it's ALOT of work. AH Schlangsky where are you from? And how do you find the G&G receiver (PM me the answers, i wanna ask something ) Cheers! ED EDIT: you got a guader AK74 grip to go on that receiver? As the grip buldge has been taken off the receiver, and if you have got one i'm guessing its from a 2004 kit, as you've made an indent for the grip rod.

Gongfarmer
I know this is going off topic a bit, but has anyone seen one of the trapper SVD conversions? I am thinking of getting one and was wondering what the quality is like. Gongfarmer
