Fuser
I want a reliable, pretty cheap GBB and I've decided on the Tokyo Marui Colt M1911A1. However, while I was looking through sites to decide who to buy it from, I noticed that UNCo offers a custom version that has a metal slide installed: I was wondering, does anyone have this custom version, and is it worth the buy? I have no idea about UNco's custom work, do they do a good job? Advice appreciated. res
skyler8158
I owned their Custom Glock 34 and it was fantastic. There's not much to really mess up on that 1911 either, they just install the aftermarket slide (which comes with its own internals) and slapped a hiflow valve in the mag. Fuser
Do you think they send you the original slide as well?
elrey
When I ordered a full metal P226 from them, they included the original barrel, but not the slide. They would probably include the slide if you asked them to.
yellowlightman
How good is UNcompany with trades? Do they just put tape over them?
Handsome Pete
u could take a look at war4. they sell the metal slide on its own. That way, if you buy the stock gun and slide, you have the best of both worlds.
screamin_weasel
i wouldnt want a hiflow valve in my TM 1911 - you only just get a full load of BB's from a single gas charge as it is - if you start spurting even more gas per BB, you wont ever empty the magazine in one gas charge. cheesy_chicken101
If you are not in the UK or Europe, you have the choice to put tape over the trades, or file them out.,
gazchap
The important thing is of course, how they ship it so that it avoids the scratch marks that seem to be caused by Marui's shoddy packaging
screamin_weasel
lol yeah, make sure they either put the mag int eh gun prior to shipping, or bubble wrap the gun. i got a spare mag with mine, i had 1 mag in the gun and the other one bubblewrapped. it WILL scratch the gun. Handsome Pete
i ordered my tm 1911 from them. Arrived late end of july. had no scratches, or marks. was fine. Also...some member posted a thread on here a few days ago saying how tm have adjusted the packaging so thta the pistol sits deeper within the in the box to prvent it moving around during transport. screamin_weasel
oh right. lol as if they didnt realise that problem in the first place. mine would have got scratched if it hadnt been wrapped up.

Gene
UNCO put black glue over trades. Opt for that option if you can, because all you need is a hairdryer and a bit of patience to get it off. http://www.uncompany.com/pageorange.asp
skyler8158
I've always been able to peel the glue off of my guns from them with only my fingers.
Fuser
i wouldnt want a hiflow valve in my TM 1911 - you only just get a full load of BB's from a single gas charge as it is - if you start spurting even more gas per BB, you wont ever empty the magazine in one gas charge. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm not so worried about trades or anything as I am this kind of stuff. So you think it would be a better idea just to buy the gun and install a metal slide on my own later? res
Donut
I'd say buy the gun here, from trinityairsoft, they have the best price in the state and they only cover trades with tape. Then shop around for the metal slide. The 1911 mags are single stacked, so there isn't as much room for gas as a double stacked. I can get about 1.5 - 2 (if the conditions are good) mags out from one gas charge, and that's firing slow, with hi-flow it'll be hard just to fire one mag.
Tmayone
My opinion is that slide ruins the whole gun. White trademarks on a 1911 look horendus. Its got a silver barrel to? Yuck. I would go with just the TM and spend the extra money on mags. You could always get the WA for the same price.
