TerranCmdr
Hey all, I was daydreaming in class today and I was thinking this might not be such a hard project to do. All I need to figure out is exactly what to add to this: to get this: Anyway, it would be a really cool piece to have, especially to show off at skirmishes. What do you guys think? Any suggestions? I'm thinking I'll probably have to get the flash hider-ish thing custom made out of aluminum or something. I'm also not quite sure what the scope/scope mount is. After looking at them side-by-side, here's what I think I'll have to do: -Cut down the barrel, make some way to make it a little fatter -Get a scope and scope mount -Get/make the custom flash hider -Get something to make that weird grill thing on the front of the gun -Perhaps paint on some weathering
otherrandomhero
You could get the cone by picking up an RPK/AK74M trumpet style flash hider. All you'd need to do then is make the cylinder part, might be a little easier than making the cone yourself. You'll have to custom mount that scope, idk of one made for the mauser. Stealthbomber
You might want to have a nose at a variety of different pic's of Solo's blaster. I'm pretty sure the scope moved around a bit. You might find a version of it that's easier to copy.
TerranCmdr
I've done a pretty extensive image search, and I'm pretty set on the one I posted above. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=htt...cial_s%26sa%3DN If you look at some of those images, the scope mount almost looks like an AK style or something similar. I just need to find a machine shop or something where I can make these parts. Or maybe make them out of wood?
falconfour4
There is a website in the states that sells all the parts so you can do this very easily. i cant find the website but i am sure they were called Blast tech. if i find it i will post it here. found it http://www.blast-tech.com/products_scopesMounts_M19-1.asp
bullzebub
im pretty sure that scope / scope mount is a ww2 mount... most SW guns are ww2 guns , modified with ww2 bits. but anyway... the scope mount is just a steel plate with a 90 deg bend! and a dovetail rail... shouldnt be hard to make :-)
TerranCmdr
Thanks for the link falcon... that stuff's pretty pricey though.
Walrus
You could probably do the grill thing on the front of the gun by getting little metal "sticks" and then bending them around it.
evilliboba
Look good. I hope to see the finished product. Oh and BTW "Greedo shot first!"
poorieuser
I'm pretty sure the scope is a Russin Nagant Scope Variant as its very similar to a PU scope. PU Scope and Mount (Won't let me display the image.) They're like 300 bucks IIRC but this scope should look the part. http://www.evike.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv...de=Scope_Scopes As far as the Grill on the Mag a 72 Pin connect from a Nintendo would most likely do that part. PM If you're interested as I have a spare. And HAN SHOT FIRST!
TerranCmdr
Cool, thanks for the links! I do have to say that scope mount looks a lot like the one in the prop. All I have to do now is wait till I get a job and buy the parts! btw, do you have a pic of that nintendo do-hickey?
poorieuser
I'll get some Monday.
my_plague_666
You could get the cone by picking up an RPK/AK74M trumpet style flash hider. All you'd need to do then is make the cylinder part, might be a little easier than making the cone yourself. You'll have to custom mount that scope, idk of one made for the mauser. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> the problem with an RPK flash hider is i think it would be too short to look like the one on that gun
TerranCmdr
Yeah, I think you're right. Looks like it's a little too short and also has those cuts in the front which wouldn't really work.
Chris North
Not sure if this helps but there is a pistol scope on Cheaper than Dirt that looks alot like that one. Here it is.
TerranCmdr
That does look very similar. Thanks for the link! I might end up using that one.

Looks like it's a little too short and also has those cuts in the front which wouldn't really work. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i think youre thinking of a 'u' type flash hider (the kind found on the beta spetznaz). i was talking about this http://redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/airsoft/...il?prodID=21113 look at the hider on that. still, i think both would be unsuitable
TerranCmdr
Ah yes, that is closer, but still too short I think. If I just find someone to lathe it for me I'm sure it won't be too expensive.
poorieuser
One of those big long funnels you use for changing the oil in your car might work. You'd have to drill out the wholes and modify it to fit into what looks like a flashlight end cap then epoxy it onto the barrel. Upper Flash Hider http://www.boatersworld.com/product/366975761.htm Lower Flash Hider http://cgi.ebay.com/G-P-Pressure-Switch-fo...oQQcmdZViewItem Scope http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/SCP047-1055-1503.html Mounts http://cgi.ebay.com/1-25mm-LOW-Profile-Wea...oQQcmdZViewItem Mag Well http://www.freewebs.com/starwarzcollectr/7...20CONNECTOR.bmp That should be all you need. I've got one of those 72 pin connectors like I said. I'll defiantly got some pictures of what it looks like Tomorrow in my Electric Engineering Class.
samuel
I would consider using a TM proscope for the scope and fitting the end from a broken sniper scope to it for the shape perhaps?
poorieuser
Arent Proscopes ridiculously priced though?
samuel
Arent Proscopes ridiculously priced though? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Like most things, you can find them fairly cheap if you shop around.
Tommygunn
This site tells you what all the parts are: http://www.partsofsw.com/dl44sw.htm You could use a surplus MG42 or MG3 flash hider/muzzle booster for the blaster muzzle, machine the booster part to reduce it's diameter and drilling holes in the flash hider cone. Expect to pay a pretty penny for the Dialytan scope as they are German WW2 collectors items for scoped K98's
TerranCmdr
THANK YOU man. I've been looking for that site for so freaking long. OMG I really appreciate that man that will really help me out.
