Stangace
The other models are out on RSOV
BorgWarrior_HUN
any comments on the sound cutoff capabilities, and the passive protection capabilities? would like to try one out with real guns, but if it couldnt handle that loudness, i wont buy one.
Black Stena
So did anyone bought them and tried them out. I really want to buy Comtac II replica.
kojak
If anyone has a U94 PTT please let me know, I heard that those are great and that they have no problems. Once I get a PTT that allows me to transmit I can write up the full review. Thanks, -Luis Looking forward to it. I'm especially curious about the protection threshold, since that's the main issue I have with the Element cans.
tangloppen
My Teammate will get his in a day or 2, if no one else have done it at the time, we will do a small rewiew.
BorgWarrior_HUN
thanks in advance! and if you could look (hear ) it with real gun application, i'd be greatful!
Blindside
I got mine today, however they're at my house and I'm at my dorm, so it'll be a bit before I can check them out. I bought the TEA PTT as well however... I'll hopefully have some kinda review of it within the next week or two when I make it back home.
Grantfallen
I'm looking forward to getting a pair of the sordin copies. I was going to put an order through on Monday for them and the TEA PTT, thanks for the headup on the PTT. I think I'll go for the U94 instead. I'll put up a review once they've arrived with the U94 if nobody else has by then.
Blindside
Got a chance to check mine out today actually, they're pretty nice. Amplification is pretty good and same with muffling. It's not the same as some real Sordins, but its good. Build quality seems pretty good as well. I won't get a chance to skirmish with them for awhile however. One thing that might be an issue is if the amplification can get... overloaded and drown out some of the smaller sounds, like getting shot.
sirrith
I'm very interested in the muffling... Anyone care to do some testing?
Blindside
My quick test earlier was smacking a shoe against a table to see how well it muffled. Made the crack disappear and made it significantly quieter. That's about the most scientific test I can do. I won't be shooting RS anytime soon as far as I know.
Banshee_Will
I have a pair of these, however I cant get them to turn "on" I have installed the battery, tried it both ways then holding the on button for a while........... so far no luck? Im probably not doing something really obvious...... help?
Blindside
You say 'the battery' which is singular, but they require two batteries. The first battery kind of slides down into it, towards the earcup if memory serves correctly.
Banshee_Will
yep fail on my part........ all sorted now!
sirrith
Lol, battery fail Thanks Blindside, Do you think you might be able to test it by firing a GBB next to your ear? That should test whether its any good
Blindside
It will be a bit, I'm not sure when the next time I'll make it home. Not sure if I even have gas anymore either haha.
sirrith
awesome, thanks
Neko
Does anyone have a final verdict on these? I'm considering picking up a pair one of these days, but don't want to drop the money on a possible paperweight. Anyone have any issues yet?
Luis21
I skirmished with these on Saturday in 105F/40C degree heat, wore them for about 4 hours straight along with a Mich 2000 and no problems. I was sweating balls and they were pretty comfortable, my only small complaint was the cable that runs through the top underside of the headband can make its presence known after a couple hours. The amplification was great too. The thing with this headset is that it reduces a loud noise's level and it did that quite a few times but I was still able to hear my environment without a problem. -Luis
Blindside
I used mine for the first time yesterday with the TEA PPT. Worked quite well. Comfortable, good sound quality. Drained quite a bit of battery from motorola however. I noticed the annoying wire as well. Amplification was sometimes too much however. As for the GBB test, it dropped the sound quite a bit. Luis21
Yes, these do not shut off the sound completely. Instead they lower a loud sound to a very low level and then return to regular amplification, just like the real Sordins. What Motorola radio did you use? Voltage? My Motorola Talkabout T5950 that uses 3x 1.5v AA batteries doesn't seem to have enough power to turn on both speakers for comms use. I might just end up just using the left side for incoming comms as if it was a double downlead headset with the left side plugged in only. -Luis
Isamu
Which do you think is a good PTT+Sordin combo? Im looking for adding a nice headset to my puxing radio without breaking the bank Thanks
Blindside
Any of the PTTs, whichever you like most. Some people in here say there are issues with the TEA PTT, but mine worked flawlessly. Luis, no idea, it was my buddies. He had fully charged it the night before and in about 5 hours of gameplay it was dead.
BorgWarrior_HUN
I had recieved my Sordin yesterday from RSOV, and have the following problems: The Sordin's right earcups amplification is not working correctly. The amplification cuts off way too soon, and the same powered sound won't cut off the left side, and on total random occasions, the right earcup starts to interfere, without any precedence, and with no cause. The second problem is, when I try to transmit with my radio, the left earcup interferes as long as is push the PTT button. This occures when I transmit, and when I recieve. So in this state, the Sordin is next to useless. I hope we can work the problem out with RSOV.
BorgWarrior_HUN
Update: "Dear Sir if you are not happy with the sound quaility of this Headsetm please return to us, and we are please to change to other items or refund the metrial cost to you Thanks Light" I'm busted. Return postage would be ~80$, so I could buy a new one. Great.
