chas
if it doesn't have the almost out-of-the-box problems the M870 used to have (remember when Marui wa sa sinonym for reliability and top of the box performance just by not opening a gun?), I shall get one, no doubt. http://www.wgcshop.com/products?item=tokyo-marui-ksg-gas-shotgun Thought this gun needed its own thread. renegadecow
I'm fairly certain they've got this down to a tee. Their 870 had teething issues as it was the first time they implemented a 6-shot shotgun but they've sorted out those problems since then and even come with steel reinforced loading arms as stock. chas
Didn't the MP7 also have problems upon first release? Hows the AA12?
renegadecow
IIRC the problems with the MP7 were nozzle related involving the use of gases it wasn't designed for. Not heard anything bad about the AA-12 other than being expensive and that the new drum mag misfeeds sometimes.
Safeword
I really want the KSG but I just bought a TM 870 Breacher the day before pre-order started Impulse101 said on their facebook that it comes in small batches first so even if you pre-order you may have to wait for a second batch so I guess i'll wait a few months before buying one, need to save up and watch some reviews of it first
bankz5152
Im saving up for one now. Always loved the KSG On my phone, my spelling will suck
Wingmann
I'll wait to see if the gas reservoir turns into a balloon first.
swatti
If I wasn't working on a new shotgun already this I might just buy. And where are the Chinese cloners, we want that AA12!.. Cmon, just two months without food and you can afford one.
Brigg
I'd definitely be interested in one of these. But after the wobbly mess with f'd up loading nozzles that my 870 was out of the box, I'm going to have to wait a few months and see how these are. Especially using green gas. renegadecow
Pretty damn quick reload!
Safeword
I heard the pump was harder on this than the TM 870 but this looks like no problem at all, also wondering if the rail on the pump can take the beating over time when adding a foregrip, I heard it's plastic but it looks damn sturdy
renegadecow
The real one is plastic. But TM really needs to start infusing glass fiber in their ABS.
chas
73 m/s. I guess range comes down to the hop-up. Anyone can tell me what the power and range on the M870 is?
Rob15
The real one is plastic. But TM really needs to start infusing glass fiber in their ABS. TM doesn't need to, nor will it ever do that themselves, everyone buys the plastic pellets with the glass fibre already in them, the problem is it's not as simple as 'just buy glass fibre reinforced ABS and use that instead' because the shrink rates are likely to be different and they'd have to remake all the moulds to account for that, on a new model not so bad but it's probably a lot easier to stick with the same material they've been using for other guns, if nothing else it saves purging injection moulding machines so often. renegadecow
For the general purposes of airsoft, yes, plain ABS just about does it durability wise. But it simply pales in comparison in looks especially when it starts getting that typical TM™ shine with use. I know the tooling is different but we're not talking nearly as much glass content as real steel, just enough to get it to look and feel like the real thing. They're being left out in the mud by the likes WE and they can make them cheaper. I think there's plenty hope for change seeing as how they've been making "full metal" models now whereas ten years ago one would consider it inconceivable.
bankz5152
Couldnt tell from the video but does it function like the RS feeding wise? I saw you can load one shell into each tube but does it feed from both? Looks pretty good though! Think I shall wait till a few people have theirs and the Xmas sales are on, get one then. How long until someone builds an M4 mag adapter for the rear? hahaha
Wingmann
As far as I understand it, the left tube is just for storage (one shell). The one used to feed the shotgun goes in the right tube and it works as it does in any other 3-shot.
renegadecow
Yup. If you go to the part where he shows the muzzle, you can see the tri-barrels slightly skewed to the right which lines up with the right tube. Left tube just holds one (or was it two?) extra shell, but since there's no door to fiddle around with like on the 870, swapping/loading shells can be really quick.
bankz5152
Kinda disappointing... Could they have not rigged up a way to have it feed from both shells? Since that is the point of the KSG
Zereck
They said something like "the mechanism would not fit to have it work from both tubes". The FPS is kinda low even for a weaker gas and compared to the 870s too.
bankz5152
250fps from 3 bbs on 134s. Thats acceptable, probs more like 290 on propane im happy with that On my phone, my spelling will suck
