Rob15
So basically makes your Hi-Capa non-hop for target/ISPC shooting? Seems like a sensible idea, i always found my old (1991 design) TM AMT hardballer non-hop NBB to be very accurate for target shooting upto about 10 meters even with the heavy trigger pull and is even reasonably accurate past that range ;;
insanity54
I'm still confused. There's no hop up, but there is still something to adjust. Adjusting this device does exactly what?
ninja master of coffee
I think that's just what the barrel attaches to. I think the thing you get is just the barrel and chamber shown in the top pic. The barrel still needs something to anchor to so you still need the bit with the hop adjustor. I think hes reffering to the diagram, and that theres a notch in the front end of the barrel for turning it. Of which I am also curious I think I got it .It puts pressure on a rubber chamber creating friction the full circumference of the bb to adjust the fps. If I'm translating the chinglish correctly
Cpt
Um.. ever considered turning the original hop up completely off?
heroshark
Um.. ever considered turning the original hop up completely off? still has an effect ,just slightly
Romulus
Turning the hop-up all the way off can also lead to BB's falling out of the barrel in hard kicking guns (I happen to know that the4th was having this issue). I think that something like this is long overdue. I just hope that it isn't half baked like some of 9balls other ideas.
malavern
If I'm translating the chinglish correctly Its Jap-glish Japanese, not Chinese... its says something along the line of, for more travel distance, turn the barrel clockwise, or for more short range accuracy, turn the barrel counter-clockwise (or something similar to those lines)
Wege
that still implies a form of hopup though!
aerodrew
I wonder if these will come with varying inner barrel lengths?
RacingManiac
that still implies a form of hopup though! And it sounds KSC-like....which is worrying.... I still don't quite understand the need for this, its usually not an issue for a Hi-Capa to shoot sub 1" group at over 10m. Most of the airsoft IPSC shots for pistol is not longer than that. How much of an "improvement" scientifically would justify this?
Romulus
There could be situations where having no hop-up could help you maximize something like a 6.01 barrel (they seem to lose their edge over 6.03's with certain setups). But your right, the difference would be very small.
livingplasma
I think the improvement in IPSC use would come from the fact that you wouldn't have to hold the gun perfectly vertical to maintain accuracy like you do with a hop up enabled gun. Usually if you have the gun canted in a certain direction, the bb's flight path could veer that way slightly, especially noticable at longer distances. It would make the handling of the airsoft gun more "natural" in this regard, possiblely making aiming around obstacles quicker too since you don't have to angle your wrists to keep the gun level. Now if only they incorperated Tanio Koba's twist barrel, that would make an interesting combination!
my_plague_666
Its Jap-glish Japanese, not Chinese... or the more common, collective term: engrish seems like a sensible idea IMO. i've never really felt the need to switch to a sidearm for a long range shot, so may as well have a bit more accuracy for when things get up close and personal
