Anyone got an idea where to get SVD style cheek rest/pad/piece, preferably Izhmash made for AK74? Although replica one is fine too. I've found one at Rusmil but they are out of stock. You mean the shingle? They do but mayflower one works way better.

If I wanted to build an AK like that then what would be the best base gun for it?

I normally use 3x or 4x magnification. I think that 4x is MAX level for airsoft when it comes to scopes. Anything beyond that is just for scanning. uscmCorps stated in the Magpul thread that he uses a cheap monocular which he carries in his pocket for scanning. That's not a bad idea either. I consider running a shortdot on the SR and buying monocular to help me ID targets long distance away (milsim games). Photos of my SR-25 Shoots around 450fps and range is around 300ft with the R-hop. I use side mounted aimpoint micro as a backup sight. I am going to paint it next year (green) and thinking of buying other scope and mount. Probably a SR-25 scope mount replica. Any suggestions on scope? Would a shortdot look *suitcase* with a SR-25 or should I stick with "normal" scopes? The current one is a 3-9X Tasco.

I mostly use my magnifier to scout targets which are far away.

Yeah I can speak for him; That's a TYR 1,5L pouch, I also have one in RG. They seem to have removed some of the velcro and got rid of the molle on the sides.

Maybe you should re-think the placement of the GP pouch on your right side? Looks like you can't draw your pistol properly? I tried to run my APC with the MRC shingle but I thought that I couldn't draw the primary mags fast enough. The mags sit pretty tight there. Is that troy stock RS? I really want one for my AEG.

That indeed is the case. The stock spring is a bit stronger than the action 150%. The Action one is a little bit longer though. My TM G17 locks back fine with the HK3P spring.

Thanks guys for your replies. The gun is brand new bought off rsov.com Slide not locking back: This happens when the mag is out of BBs and should lock back. The problem seems to be the stock recoil spring. I replaced it with a action 150% and works fine for now. The HK one wouldn't lock back even with a mag full of gas. Trigger issue. The trigger works fine when it cycles automatically. Put you have to push the slide down when do it manually. This also applies to fields strip. Sorry for the double post. I already posted this in the reviews section but thought that it could be informative in here, too. I got the HK G17 Gen3 version today and I must say I am really disappointed with it. I got it because my TM G17 has some strange issues randomly and I can't trust it 100%. HK G17 is just dull. The hop up is very poor compared to Marui's and the slide doesn't lock back when the mag is out of BBs. Even if it is full of gas! Also you have to push down the slide when you rack it, to make sure that it activates the trigger! If anyone has any suggestions how t
