    AK 74

Very nice! I am building something very similar base off of a GHK AKM, except with a 2.5-5x POSP. Is this a Russian PSO? How did you get the PSO to fit on your AK siderail? Does it lock in properly? I ask this because I thought the 4x PSO only came in the SVD mount, which can't lock in properly into the AK sidemount.
  2. I can't believe it's been almost 3 years since the start of this thread, before the release of the V1. Time does fly.

    $1K club.

Here's a good metric for what qualifies for this thread: Stuff that is awesome and makes you envious. A fully pimped 1911? Yeah definitely. A pile of AEG magazines? Probably not. That should be easy enough.
  4. No that's definitely an Aimpoint. Just compare to this photo, it looks nothing like a PK-01: Yes there are direct-to-ring 30mm side AK mounts. I can't name the one specifically used in that photo, but here is a US-made example: http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=42799/Product/AK-30MM-MOUNT
  5. Soooo niiiice! I'd really like a pair, but I can't afford entire AOR2 loadout! Also, nice poster.
  6. I have a G&P tubular spanner wrench for the old style URX. However I was under the URXIII uses a newer barrel nut. Is the wrench you used an actual $200+ KAC wrench, or did you find an alternative?
  7. Piano: I really like that SR47. Not something you see everyday, definitely. You did a self-install of the URX3? Did you use the official tools or did you implement an alternate method "good enough for airsoft"? If you've developed a method I might pick up a URX3.
  8. RM: That's awesome. I really love your newest SVI build. I personally like silver 2011s better, especially with these new aluminum grips, but the black and gold are nice together. When I first saw those aluminum grips on the SVI website a few years back, I thought it would be nice if we had them for airsoft 2011s. When Prime finally turned up with them, I liked everything except the price! I really hate the plastic 2011 grips, the aluminum grips make the 2011s so much classier. I really would've liked to build an IED Hybrid SVI on one of these frames, but too many projects going on at
  9. Just got a GHK AIMS. It's beautiful! How the hell do you remove the upper handguard? Help appreciated.

Once you get the gas tube off, rotate the handguard 180 degrees and pull it out from the bottom of the tube

  10. Excellent. The lack of forge stamp on the Prime upper is always an annoyance.
  11. Thanks for the excellent write ups, both Spencerman and BaBaBooey. Are there any versions of this gun that are not marked "6mm BB" in white on the top of the receiver?
  12. Yes it is the real deal, good eye! I got a pretty good deal on it in exchange for a 553 I previously got for a SOPMOD II carbine. AFAIK, 553s are being replaced by the tan EXPS "SU-233B/PEQ," as the laterally mounted battery copes with recoil better, not that it matters in airsoft. It works the same, just smaller and the buttons are on the side so you can sit a magnifier closer. The throwlever is also tension adjustable. The 553 was loose on the Inokatsu upper (but was fine on RS and Prime uppers, there goes "in spec," Inokatsu), but the EXPS mount is tension adjustable.
  13. They make a smaller one now, the "'micro" 600m.
  14. kingDONG: Nice! Very clean and the weathering makes it look serious. I actually have a very similar setup (I guess it's similar to both your uppers): This build is now done optics and all but I don't have my camera to snap pics.
  15. Gah, 3 pts. Bought one a few months ago! Poooor choice!
  16. Repost, just to get in on the SPR action
  17. I mostly shoot semi so I've never tried to optimize for ROF, but like I said before, as long as your buffer is lighter and/or your spring is stiffer, you should achieve higher ROF. If your ultimate aim is ROF I don't think WAM4 is a good starting point.
  18. Lighter bolt, lighter buffer, stiffer recoil spring. The bolt in your Inok is steel. Your ROF will increase if you switch to an aluminum bolt.Your recoil will be diminished. If you're trying to achieve an ROF comparable to an M4, it's unheard of for WAM4.
  19. Block 2 WAM4 rebuild. Replaced receiver with Inok model, previous lower was kind of "blinged" out and didn't seem appropriate. F-FSB, note how flush the RIS II sits against the upper, it took me a few hours in shop to get everything fitted correctly. Optics between EXPS and SpecterDR, though the SpecterDR will probably have to be a clone. Sorry for these horrendous photos, I don't have my tripod or lightbox, so I result to HDR handheld photos. They're ok if you look at them from afar.
  20. Oh, in that case, nvm. Interesting effect! 200 Kelvin? That is far below the visible spectrum.
  21. bladerunner: Correct your white balance, please.
  22. My mistake. I thought Inok was the only one to have a ribbon of excess material in the front magwell area.
  23. GBB version of what? It looks a self built gun on an Inokatsu receiver BTW, that is kit. Would be better with Prime A1 lower and genuine RIS II. Are the ironsights genuine articles from KAC?
