  1. Better guns in there than my local shops, including ASGI and Evike.

Yikes. This is why you are frustrating everyone, and they think you're an idiot. The polarstar, like EVERY OTHER gun, is forcing the BB out using gas. Based on your P* settings, your gun is using a lot more than what is necessary, so, when you put in heavier BBs it shoots harder (also farther). This can be demonstrated with ANY OTHER airsoft gun, particularly with a short barrel/full cylinder. More gas than necessary=more power with heavier ammo. It doesn't matter whether the air came from a paintball tank or an AEG cylinder. My CQBR AEG shoots harder with heavier ammo. My sh

Like any gas gun; the volume of gas is potentially far greater than what's required to expel the BB. In short, if you are chrono-ing with .20s then hitting the field with heavier ammo you are very likely cheating the intent of your sites' rules, if not their strict wording. It's this kind of thing that has gotten P* guns banned from at least two local fields--they do not shoot any farther than other guns of the same energy level. As for what constitutes a designated marksman's rifle, if you're doing any sort of military simulation: Standard carbine, CQBR, SMG,: Never a DMR no matte
  4. Not bad for $9: Here it is in my box opener collection:
  5. Quality is a subjective thing--I'm happy with it, and it's plenty bright for my purposes. There's a whole thread about these lights in the Airsoft News forum.
  6. Once again, my trusty M4A1 CQBR: As nice as the golden brown BBQed suppressor looked, I repainted it to better resemble real photos. Also replaced the perfectly good 552 and PEQ-15 with a SpecterDR and LA-5 (with bodged in green laser, I can't have some empty box sitting on my rifle).

  8. I know that feel, all the flash hiders I want are 14mm- only, and it's not like you can change the whole barrel. Plus, the added length from the converter looks off. It just occurred to me that I could Dremel the threads out of a flashhider and simply glue it to the MRP barrel--using something mild like wood glue so it would still be removable.
  9. $1K sneaks up on you, doesn't it? While waiting for more goodies to arrive in the mail, I found a new home for the Block II accessories I'm replacing:
  10. I was concerned that it might warp, or look obvious that it was heated from the outside. Eventually I got tired of waving the flame around and stuck the can directly on my gas stove, turning it every few seconds.
  11. Thanks, the colors in my photos are no good but I think it turned out great. There's no paint on the can yet, ran a blowtorch over it until it changed color.
  12. Almost done with the refresh of my favorite cave-clearing blaster. Added a SF RAID and heat treated the suppressor with a torch. Front sight looked more like KAC taupe before I messed with it: "Downgraded" to Matech rear sight, CAR stock, extended latch, and teardrop FA: Next update will be SpecterDR and LA-5.
  13. Somebody beat me to it--I like shooting targets with real guns and shooting people with realistic imitation guns. Plenty of folks (myself included) like to play milsim type airsoft using a detailed replica--not only is it fun to build but it adds to everyone else's enjoyment and immersion. Sure, 30's gangster or post-apocalyptic robot assassin guns are fun, but when everyone else is using modern military weapons in a military scenario they detracts from the experience. Also, please don't call airsoft a sport unless you are trying to save money on paintballs and call a skirmish a "sc
  14. I would totally buy a broken WA2000 just to have it on the wall. Why have you got three SS Desert Eagles (besides awesomeness)?
  15. No, it's a copy of the Load Bearing Boar which is basically all one piece.
  16. Minor updates to my bump lid, purely for airsoft functionality: The SF helmet light mount is bolted directly to the rail for a lower profile. The headset has the straps removed and is screwed directly into the helmet from the inside. The padding on the earpiece has also been removed, allowing the speaker to float over the ear without impeding hearing or causing discomfort. Looks like I can further simplify things by replacing the left side mask strap with a simple bit of Velcro on the bottom loop of the headset. Still planned: Element/Z Tac mic light Homemade version of the p
  17. I'm jealous of how light it is. This is what I'll be carrying around all day tomorrow: CQBR Marui DE hardkick in custom holster Emerson bump helmet w/ coms, lights, mask, Contour HD, Smith Boogie Regulators replica Esstac LBB w/ kydex inserts for 8x PTS EMAGs Mechanix, 2x Thunder Bs frags, 3L Source hydro, multitool, ammo, loader, deadrag, radio
  18. Decided to spruce up my SOPMOD CQBR, since it gets used about twice as often as the rest of my guns combined. Stage 1:
  19. I was going to say, why install a light when you can always just wait a few hours and the sun comes up for free.
  20. Yikes, AsiaAirsoft AKA WarIdiot? They're the ones that taped an orange M4 flash hider to my Glock, and tried to ship it to just my name and state. Then did it again with my next Glock after I emailed them about it. Darn, this thread was making me kinda re-want that Desert Warrior. Maybe I'll get an HK3 XDM.
  21. Oh, was that in the incident report?
  22. I had one of those flashbang chargers a while back and it never worked properly--I like my AI charger much better.
