Nicely done. What did you use for a mount, and did you make a press?
  2. There are replica IR glowsticks out there.
  3. Anyone using a Contour ARC rail mount should take it apart and put some threadlocker on the center screw. Mine worked its way free while I wore it--luckily I had tethered the camera. Also, now that I have it apart I noticed that the previously useless tilt function is infinitely adjustable if you loosen the two screws on either side of the pivot. I'm thinking of modding mine to delete the center plastic spacer to make it sit closer in.
  4. He means he's blissfully unaware of the minute details of Commie guns in general, probably. Visually, an SVD is a stretched out AK to us non-anoraks.
  5. I don't think they approve specific devices, it's your responsibility to conform to the convoluted regulations and cross your fingers. In our great state, a detachable rifle magazine is fine if the grip does not protrude conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon, so if you don't want to deal with the bullet button foolishness you can get a Saiga rifle, M1A, or some other non dangerous-looking gun.
  6. Thanks--just ordered one. I was about to buy another Element, but the switchcap seems wrong and their tan is way too silvery. Speaking of fake scout lights, PX has listed some new ones (in black only) with trademarked tape switches. Picture thread: That's my only current "night game gun"; the outer barrel is JUST long enough for the KAC suppressor to lock in but too short for my tracer unit, and I switched the Madbull tracer hopup to my MOE carbine. Has anyone seen a laser mounted to an MOE forend without looking awful?
  7. Real M600C? Also, do those tan Aimpoints exist anywhere besides airsoft? Not that it would make me want one any less...
  8. I've got long gorilla arms and I shoot an AR with the stock fully extended for target plinking, but with a PC on and in a "dynamic" environment (clearing buildings, firing from prone, crawling, etc.) I need it almost fully collapsed. Nice MP7 by the way
  9. I think I like the $15 fake ARMS sights better than real MBUS. I only got a set to see if they would fit next to a Gear Sector Scoutlight mount: Any suggestions on a better clockwise threaded muzzle device? I'm thinking maybe the Rainier Arms Mini.
  10. I want a stiff Cobra buckle inner/outer belt, like the Duty Belt, LE (OUTER) with the outer loops of the Ranger Belt, Enhanced, PALS. For Now I guess I'll just get another EMDOM CM.
  11. Ready for the zombies: All it needs is a Beta C-MAG.

New Desert Eagle needed a holster: I've got parts on order to make a Kydex press for a more "defined" look, but it's functional.
  13. Snapped a couple photos in the team "armory" where our surplus gear is stored, swapped, and shared:
  14. It's 3-4 credit cards thick, but the Spydercard is still my favorite forget-it's-in-my-pocket knife. More of my (very) humble collection: Gerber Diesel (should've got a Leatherman), $20 ZT knockoff (with custom paintjob), Kershaw Tremor (my other EDC knife), and an old M16-14LE beater. The Tremor was an excellent value--I love the shape and the spring assist is awesome.
  15. I like the retrospectives, though it's disturbing how much this thread and it's predecessors have cost me over the past few years. My first airsoft M4, "tricked out" rather randomly after a trip to the ASGI and Evike retail shops: The same rifle, after browsing Arnies for a few months: After some more browsing (mainly in the Magpul thread) I got my first M4 AEG: In 2010 I decided I didn't like Magpul and Block II was the way to go: I even built a Block I CQBR when I ran out of things to buy (wish I had hung on to this one): I started to build this one but
  16. PX Airsoft has the "opmod" version, too. I bought the black one with side buttons; it's not as bright in sunlight as my other fake Eotechs and the buttons are prone to unintentional setting changes at the lightest brush, but it's still OK for the price.
  17. Minor external updates to the MRP (SCAR panels, offset Scoutlight, G23 magnifier): I still have an urge to replace the stock, but what else can hold both my ASCU control unit and a decent 11.1V battery?
  18. Pretty good. The buttons protrude a little too far and are sensitive so putting the included cove on the sight results in turning it on. The ghosting is minor and only noticeable in very low light. As ACM Eotechs go this is the best one I've used so far.
  19. ACM, no brand given (it came in a box with Eotech trades). Found it at P-X.
  20. I like em. I've wanted to try some ever since they came out--the matched profile with rail panels is a very good idea. The VFG is tiny, but I've always (even pre-Costa) held mine diagonally and it's just big enough to do the job. Not that I ever had any problems with the old broomhandles getting in my way. Mine are fakes though--the handstop is TSC and the VFG is mystery ACM. Both are nicer than they looked in the photos. I'll probably switch the fake Tango Down covers with some SCAR panels, and get an Element Scoutlight with the corresponding Gear Sector mount.
  21. My first new M4 variant in a very long while: While I love my MK18s, it's nice to put whatever I want on a gun without trying to replicate anything. I actually ordered a replica G23 magnifier and received this one--should I make a fuss or just keep it?
  22. I avoid butchering the Firefly buffer rubber since the large surface area is what makes it great in the first place. It takes me about thirty seconds to enlarge a chamber window (I've done four of them now). I need to find some more of those barrel springs. Any ideas on a source?
  23. We have far better props at our local games. I didn't see it myself, but one of our squads found an "objective" and left it alone because they thought it was a bit of random garbage.
