Certain plastics are less likely to deform when dropped on the ground (like when the clip flies out of the Garand). Metal would drive the cost up, and if potmetal is used, you wouldn't be able to reuse your clips for long. Then again, from friends who have fired the Garand. You can't really hear the ping at all because guns tend to be loud when fired. I'd like the ping though. You could probably figure out a way to get the ping back.

Far East, how much do the TM M14s go for in Japan? I was surprised that many products at Japanese Retailers were actually more expensive than their Hong Kong counterparts. I didn't check AEGs though.

The hop up is located in the magazine well on the bottom and is not exposed when you pull back the charging handle. Though that bolt catch feature would be nice to have anyway...

Yeah, the 50s and 60s had really bad plastics. The M14 heat shield and AR15 handguards were very poor quality.

I don't see any attitude problems, just a guy who wants to help out with info. I'd say someone's subconscious inferiority complex is showing itself. I think he doesn't know if there's anything special with the gearbox and that his updates and news have been pretty realistic and accurate unlike some people touting the M14 would be 8mm, have a working and automatically cycling bolt and being able to end world hunger.

I'd wait and see how they go. Right now your only options are the WA M1911A1 or the KJW one which I've only seen in the states. Some KSC guns are great, but others aren't, so I'd recommend waiting to see how they go. I've had nothing but trouble with Glock 18s, and the M945 (S&W M1911 lookalike) is very plasticy and has a lot of plastic parts that are metal on my WA M1911. Also, most people brag about how metal slides for KSCs are cheap, but I only see this with Glocks and USPcs which have polymer frames. However, their M9s, CZs and M945s have very expensive full metal kits just like
