"Digicon: *snip*

These guns could be modified to take unregulated CO2, allowing them to fire at extremely high power, well over the .98 Joule limit in Japan."

This is the same kind of a claim as that you can convert airsoft or model guns to fire actual ammunition. Technically possible, but requires an amount of re-working and machinery, and you end up simply using the base model as a shell. Digicon has certain parts which make these conversions "less incredibly hard", but in the end of the day quite a lot of airsoft guns can be converted to fire that hard. Especially with AEGs and spring rifles it's even easier than on Digicons, but the latter were used because they cost less and are usually smaller in size.

-The elderly woman in Japan was killed by the shooter, not Digicon or a Digicon pistol. The weapon may have originally been a Digicon, but there wasn't much left of the original model.

-An NBB is not automatically more accurate than a GBB. Recoil does not affect accuracy. On old GBBs the slide moved before the BB was shot, and that had a slight effect, but it doesn't apply on current models.

Why would you intentionally get closer to the target? One rule of a gunfight is to minimize/maximize. This means minimizing the area you're exposing, and maximizing the distance to the target. The latter gives an advantage to the better shooter, which is you of course. Using cover will make you a smaller target, but an increased distance will take it even further, and makes you all the more harder to spot.

Using a pistol as a long range weapon is very challenging, and when you succeed it's more rewarding than collecting frags with a powerful AEG with a 5000 round box magazine. It's a bit like handgun hunting. Not for anyone, but it certainly has its sides. The light weight and size of handguns makes a pistolero much more mobile in the field.

My choice for a pistol sniper is here. By far the best trigger pull I have ever seen on an airsoft gun, and looks that don't stand out that much. A chrome M500 with a scope drags attention in the off-game area. This one doesn't stand out until people start wondering what hit them.
